Other Goalkickers (than Benji) within the Tigers current squad
Gareth Ellis - 2 goals
Robbie Farah - 12 goals
Chris Lawrence - 3 goals
Lote Tuqiri - 27 goals

Apparently Flanagan can kick goals. I do recall when we signed him there was talk that he would make a decent back up goal kicker.

Lawrence kicked for the Aussie Schoolboys......and as walk up starter last week you think he would be first choice.....But me thinks Sheens will talk Benji around to another go at it......if at first you fail, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try again right....

I still reckon Benji is the best kicker at the club. Way down on confidence atm though, and is striking them about as well as Heather Mills would.

The other GK options at the club would do no better than Benji is doing now. Benji needs to get his sh*t together - and fast!

pulled this one from the thread "Time to step up" makes for interesting reading

Last season the tigers kicked at round 65% with a ratio of 63/96.

Marshall only kicked at 100% in 1 game, being the round 15 loss to melbourne. He kicked 2/2 that day and we lost by 2 points (the game where laurie dropped the ball with the line wide open)

In the close matches of 2009
Rd 8 V Bulldogs - Lost 22-20 Gallant 2/5, El Masri 3/4
Rd 10 V Souths - Lost 23-22 Marshall 3/4, Luke 2/2 Sandow 1/2
Rd 11 v Brisbane - Lost 20-18 Marshall 1/4, Parker 2/4
Rd 24 v Parramatta - Lost 26-18 Marshall 1/4, Innu 5/5

The numbers speak for themselves. We need a goal kicker of at least 75% for a whole season. If we can find someone in this area to step up, the close matches might not be so close at the 70 min mark.

seems to me like we havn't learned from the ghosts of seasons past. Sure we are winning games. But the one and 2 pointers might have been closer to 10 or 12 pointers and a comfortable win

Wests Tigers coach Tim Sheens says out-of-form Benji Marshall is still the NRL side's "first priority" goalkicker.
Marshall, who has booted just four from 14 in the past three weeks, sacked himself as kicker during Saturday night's 24-22 win over Cronulla.
The five-eighth had booted just one from three at Leichhardt Oval before handing the duties to centre Chris Lawrence.

"We're practising with options but Benji's still our first priority," Sheens told reporters on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Lawrence's centre partner Blake Ayshford could play in Saturday's clash with South Sydney, despite a fractured hand.
"The X-ray didn't show a lot so it's now a CT scan," Sheens said.
"I think it's a fine break.
"He's still got some pain but the chances are he'll play.
"He played the second half with it so chances are he'll play but we'll just have to wait and see what the CT scan says."
The Tigers will look to atone for a 50-10 round 10 humiliation by the Rabbitohs at the SCG when the sides do battle at ANZ Stadium.

Silly me. Imagine thinking Teflon Tim may actually change things now after trying for years in another failed experiment. Sound familiar guys??? Teflon backed himself into a corner wiht this one. Recall just recently Sheensy saying WT havent even had anyone else practising at goals? Lack of a quality goal kicker will cost us. I've said it all year.

Benji just needs to put it together quickly- he has everything a goal kicker needs but consistency.... but you'd think given his record Sheens would have a back up.....

I wonder if his kicking woes are related to game form.... I'll have to look at the stas and see how he played in relation to his conversion rate-

Maybe coach sheens, or is that mr sparkle, will become a genius .

Its very obvious you know nothing about rugby league..... Tim Shines cant become a genius ..HE ALREADY IS ! .. He is also the master of being shifty as well as inventing the ole switcharoo. So go back and tell Lang that ! Who cares about dumb sh*t like win lose records.
