Recovering from surgery. Apparently all is going well, expected back early in the season... (Been a while since there was an official update on this though...)

sheens doesnt experiment in trials, he never has. he names the team he expects to play in round 1. get ready for a year of jb at the back!

with farah out morris is the logical hooker, halatau is a sh*thouse hooker. just because he can make a good run on the fourth tackle after a quick play the ball doesnt mean he is a good dummyhalf. he has a terrible passing game, no vision and no kicking game. i cant think of a worse hooker then him.

apparently this sean meaney will get a run at fullback aswell. has been at manly for a little while, rated highly but stuck behind brett stewart. might be a smokey for a run at some stage during the year....assuming jb gets injured of course.

im not sold on moltzen at all, how many first grade games did he play last year? 8 or 9? apart from a 10 minute spurt against the cowboys and one run against the titans he looked average and unwilling to get involved.

Can someone write a letter to one of the Souths forwards to clobber JB around the head so he'll miss the first month or 2 of the season?

Come on WTF!! how can you say that! Screw 1 0r 2 months , we need a career ending injury to save us.

I notice Gallant is in with the second rate mix, does that mean if they go crap and the first group does good , Jb will get credit as the better fullback.:x

I have never in 35 years of watching and supporting the tigers been so frustrated over witnessing blatantly wrong selections. Junior is crap crap CRAP CRAP ...he is even worse than Matt Parish . Hope gallant has a Blinder

junior burger isnt in the top ten full backs at the tigers. People really think Teflon has changed and things will be good in 2009 are in for a rude shock

So you think Sheens is trying to pick bad sides ???
What is he going to achieve from that ?

To all you people who are adamant that Shannon Gallant is a better fullback then Shannon McDonnell, there`s no denying that over the past year or so that Gallant has performed better, but take into consideration that McDonnell has been riddled with injuries and has rarely if ever been at full fitness.
In all the junior rep sides, McDonnell was the star and the fullback while Gallant was stuck on the wing because of him, you don`t just go from a star to a dud overnight, there are reasons why McDonnell hasn`t perfomed to his best over the past couple of seasons, he is still very young and it`s a big oversight to write him off just yet.
I watched every single game of a young Brett Hodgson and i`ve got no doubts that both Shannon McDonnell and Shannon Gallant are every bit as good as Hodgo at the same age !!!

McDonnell has never performed in first grade. That is a fact.

Everyone knows the reason why he's there.

You are kidding aren`t you ???
I can assure you that Sheens has much more influence at the club than what Warren McDonnell has.
Shannon Mac is there for one reason, he was a star in the junior ranks and Sheens is smart enough to give him plenty of time to re-find that form. He has put on plenty of size over the past season or so and it often takes time for young footballers to grow into their new body, not as simple as many of you seem to think !

Has never perfomed in first grade ???
I do remember him making 3 long range line breaks against the Panthers a few seasons back in a game in which our forwards were getting absolutely belted and no other player in our side even looked like causing the defence any problems. You can`t remember that one ???

It can certainly be stated that Teflon and co have given the underperformers literally years to reach / regain their potential without the dreaded tap on the shoulder.
