There was some talk of this earlier in the year as well.

Hope he is not too underdone if he does get the nod. Maybe worth having on the bench instead of Daniela, assuming a combination of Lui and low match fitness manage to keep him out of the run on side...

Sheens would not take a massive punt on a player in a big game. Maybe if we had a big injury toll but really would be madness to select a bloke who has not played for over four months no matter how good he was

I would probably stick with Lui for the finals. If Moltzen comes back underdone and goes down 5 minutes into a week 2 finals match, we're screwed.

As opposed to Brown, Fitzy or Daneilla on the bench for 76 minutes....

Worth carrying him as the interchange player if he is 90% fit.....

Agree with Borat. If Sheens is going to name a back on the bench and stick him there for 75 minutes I'd rather it be Moltzen, who might just be able to swing a match if necessary, than Fitzy or Daniela.

Sheens took a punt with Richards in '05 and it paid off, I'd wager he would again.

I just could not see Tim being able to match Daniela in impact ability after being on the side lines for so long. It takes a while to get your timing back after a long layoff. Anyway at least it could be another option

Daniella has actually been very, very good off the bench. Brown had been too beforehand even with limited minutes.

I'd prefer to keep Moltzen in cotton wool till next year. He's still only a kid and I'd hate to see him rush back and aggravate his knee.

I think he's a chance of being back this year now...

Geez....throw him out there to replace benji.... Looks like he might be going elsewhere anyways, so go for broke son....

i dont think they will risk moltzen. we have alot of players who arent 100%. what happens if most of them get injured in the game. we will be down to 12 men against like sat night.

benji sounds like he will play anyway and lui played pretty good against easts

I can see Benji starting and re-injuring his knee in the 1st half which will leave us short in the halves... Moltzen would be an ideal replacement from the bench... even if he isn't needed, it wouldnt be a loss as we only usually use 3 players off the bench anyway...

I saw him "running around" a few weeks ago and he just wasn't there. I'm not talking about a guy who looks like he's lost a half yard and a bit of touch after a few weeks out - he just wasn't fit. Maybe he's made a miracle recovery, but I doubt it. I'd also be reluctant to throw him into a must-win semi against the most brutal side in the league, after his history of being reluctant to really put his body on the line. Especially with the injury he did - leg injuries play with your mind. It can take months of contact to get confidence back.

The next person who asks about the possibility of Moltzen playing this year should be banned immediately.

I don't know how many times it has already been said from those in the know that it won't happen before it sinks in.

Internet forums are never wrong either...

By people in the know, I meant the club (i.e Sheens, Humphries, Royce) not anyone on here.

Just in case anyone needs it beaten into their head again:

TIM MOLTZEN IS NOT PLAYING AGAIN IN 2010.
