Tim Moltzen has put constant speculation about a possible return to the playing field to rest. For 2010, at least.
Wests Tigers Coach Tim Sheens had repeatedly told the media that Moltzen would not be rushing back from a knee injury.
The talented full-back/half-back underwent a knee reconstruction after suffering the season ending injury against the North Queensland Cowboys in round five.
Even this week, reports surfaced again that the Central Coast junior would slot straight back into the team due to the heavy injury toll.
The man himself ended the talk once and for all, saying the next time he pulls on a Wests Tigers jersey will be in 2011.
Everything is looking positive for next year. It has been a long season and we are nearing the end, Moltzen said.
Im looking forward to the game tomorrow night and I will be heading down there with Stephen (Humphreys) to watch, that is.
When we decided to take the longer approach to the operation, we always knew that it was going to be a six month injury and I havent thought otherwise at the moment.
Everything is going really well. It has only been five months at the moment so Im still a month away.
In his laid back style, Moltzen said he wasnt fussed whether he would return as a fullback or half-back. He is very effective in either the one or seven jersey.
I havent really thought about it. Im just trying to get my head around this injury, he said.
Im more looking forward to the off season than Ive had before. I have been out for so long so I am looking forward to running and doing all that fitness stuff again because it has been something I have missed for the last five months.
Where I play at the moment isnt a big worry for me. I will be happy to go back and start somewhere in the team next year if thats possible.
The boys are playing some good footy and the team is looking strong. Hopefully Tim can find somewhere to put me in.
