Time for a conspiracy theory - or - let's all start this rumour

A couple of comments I've just read in the Telegraph have me wondering if the players themselves haven't thrown this season in order to turn the spotlight directly onto their great mentor.

Adding to the stress in recent days is an escalating row with former club legend Steve 'Blocker' Roach. Appearing on Channel 10's Game Plan show last week, Roach suggested Sheens should stand down from his position ...and... Importantly, he still enjoys the support of senior players.

The Sunday Telegraph has been told Sheens has a clause in his contract stating if the Tigers fail to make the finals the veteran coach can be shown the door.

Now, of course I know that this is complete rubbish... but I will be watching closely to see who else chimes in on the side of good, as the cries of 'but he's all we know' start to grow ever more shrill from behind the barricades of Camp Concord.

I think an under 7s coach could take this team to the semis.

On paper - we are the equal of just about every time other than maybe Melbourne.

And the fact that we have failed so consistently could only be blamed on the coach. Its HIS job to develop his players - and barring a few glaring examples, they just haven't developed.

Look at how the Dogs have turned around with a decent coach....

I was at the game last night and what was really noticeable was the complete lack of urgency in all departments shown by WT,this to me shows contempt and a lack of belief in what ever Sheens was trying to implement with the game plan.

I was thinking the same thing, whilst disappointed and especially with the effort of Benji, I thought gee, maybe the players are not happy as a group.

Benji has not looked happy for weeks now, is it becasue he dis not like playing at 7.

When there was talk about Farah moving to the Titans a few years ago, wasn't it mentioned that if he re-signed the Tigers would get a no 7?

Just maybe, perhaps.

Plus, maybe Blocker is saying what the father of one of the Tigers cannot say out load because of his position - that would be his friend and neighbour.

And you conveniently forget Souths have had an injection of playing talent. Realistically though, the Burgess brothers, Dave Taylor, Inglis and a few others would not really make a difference!:sarcasm:

If I'm not mistaken, Souths had all those players last season, too.

i think what says it all is round 3 against souffs. leading 16 - 4 without a call from the refs. with 5 minutes to go .the loud, pissed souffs buffoons gone quiet .we put on a blind side scrum move, 1st tackle , that went predictably tits up.
a couple more piggy backs and we'd murdered another game. thats the last tigers NRL game i attended . i told the missus .i won't go again till the sheens/marshall era is over.

Hahah and we don't have the right players
Farah
Marshall
Woods
Blair
Galloway
Lawrence
Fulton

It says it all when a bloke never used by Supercoach goes to soufs and scores a ton of tries. Remember that bloke was with us in 2010 when Supercoach brought back that utter f**king spastic Fitzhenry

I can see two of those players are consistent NRL players and nothing more.

Marshall and Farah are outstanding.

Lawrence either through injury or confidence was not at his best.

Woods has enormous potential but is a rookie.

It comes back to overrating our squad. With Lui, we may have had a chance. Without him, no way.

and whose fault is it for not sticking with the player he trained at halfback all off-season to stay at halfback?

Especially when Humble and Meaney were available to step up and fill in at fullback.

And we had ample backline players to cover injuries to starting players, like Simona, Reddy and Koroibete.

And whose fault is it that we had a second rower playing at hooker while a specialist hooker sat on the bench?

Seriously coupe, I know you're here being optimistic for the sake of getting all of the inevitable bites you get, but you cannot be seriously be that deluded.

Even to go so far as downplaying Woods efforts this year is a classic Sheensism.

Why does he talk up players in shit form and talk down those in great form? Are the children?
