First of all, this is not meant to be a slant against JT. He is still playing some great footy and will probably get an automatic callup for rep duties for the next 2 years, barring he doesn't actually give it away. However, after watching Cherry Evans get mostly neglected yet again in tonight's test, I reckon its time JT does give it away and focuses on the only achievement that's eluded him, a Premiership with the Cows.
Granted, it could be argued that the lack of success at the JT led Cows is attributable to a number of factors, specifically the lack of a decent squad around him, but I reckon it would be good for him to show his teammates his dedication and seriousness about wining a grand final by giving away his rep duties and focusing on the club. Tate should probably be considering the same thing, as he is getting up there in age and there is a million rep quality centres waiting behind him.
The point of this is, Cherry Evans has proven to be a competent enough half for rep football. J.Ts presence won't be missed, and maybe finally he can lift the trophy for the Cowboys once before he retires.
