time to kill tradition

ive noticed that most men who follow league are a nostalgic bunch

look at any given post theres always some1 saying 'lets go back to' or 'lets keep tradition' etc etc

ok fair enough you have your sentiments, but sionce ive noticed this iive realised what a joke its become- yes tradition is sacred but theres not enough of it at the moment so its probably time to completely move forward, rather than getting a tug at each arm....souths are becoming a liability, cowboys are becoming assets

so maybe its time to throw out the history books once and for all

im thinking streamlining the competition to 16 teams, something like this

nth qld cowboys
brisbane broncs
gold coast gremlin?
north new south wales knights
central coast bears
east sydney roosters? commando's ? stingrays?
north sydney marlins
southern sydney sharks
central sydney eels? goats? pit bull? etc [eels are a dumb animal, and bulldogs arent fierce dogs at all, there actually sickly animals]
west sydney tigers [sorta exists, but why 'wests' why not call it west sydney?'
southern nsw hornet? dragons? raiders?
victorian swordfighters, highlanders [storm sounds dumb', acknowledges melbournes scottish influence])
nz north island warriors
nz south island cyclones [compliments the super 12 tornadoes}

i would also set a deal with england wherein no more than 3 aussie players per team or 4 per squad, and 2 kiwis per squad, frenchies etc exempt]

of course i leave an optiion for the 15th and 16th teams possibly a perth or adelaide type of team, but other than that ive covered the whole nsw vic qld nz area, and also what i believe is proportion for playing numbers and fans

i would have every team play each other once, bring value to the prelim games a bit more, an extended finals series and a sevens style lead in tournament
a mandatory tri series at the end of season, as well as a bonus international to be played overseas in a country like france russia usa, if aus have there bonus team against france 1 yr, then usa can play england and nz russia the next yr they can shuffle, so the dumb countries possibly get a marquee game every yr
the toppest players would only really be playing 25 games a yr, they can handle that

obviously most ppl will disagree with what i be saying, but in a parallel universe, with tradition detached, this would work better than the nrl setup presently

Iron makes John Ribot look BRILLIANT.

Iron..you have been here 5 mins and in that 5 mins you have written enough crap in all of your posts to last 12 months.

How silly. Purging more teams won't achieve anything. This is how the comp should look:

North Qld
Brisbane
Gold Coast
Canberra
Melbourne
Auckland
Newcastle
Sydney
Parramatta
Penrith
Cronulla
Canterbury
Illawarra Dragons Ltd
Wests Tigers
Adelaide/Perth Rabbitohs
Gosford Bears

16 teams.

Umm, yes. It's well known how Victorians love to eat haggis, and toss the caber while wearing our kilts.

Hows that work? The Hurricanes are based in Wellington which is on the north island.

What about a team from New Guinea. The 'Headhunters'.
