Departing Dragon Nathan Blacklock has fired off a shot at his former team-mates before heading to the UK.
The try-scoring winger, who only played a small number of first grade games last season, warned the under achieving Dragons must rediscover some passion.
Blacklock, headed to UK Super League Club Hull after eight seasons at Kogarah, said the club has lost the spirit that used to run through the veins of players from past eras.
"I just dont think we had as much passion as the old Dragons sides" Blacklock was reported in a Coffs Harbour newspaper.
"Players like Nathan Brown, Mark Coyne and Jeff Hardy..they were very passionate. You get energy off being around those guys, but we need a few more players like that on the field".
Blacklock, who was a guest speaker at an Aboriginal education and cultural expo at Coffs Harbour Education Campus, rated pulling on the St George jersey as a highlight of 10 seasons in first grade.
"It [playing last year] was a bit frustrating", said Blacklock, who will spend Christmas in his home town, Tingha, before flying to England on December 28.
"It was a bit like a car with only two or three cylinders firing..it is not going to go too far"
"I cant wait to get out there and play with Hull and enjoy myself. It has been a long season with the injuries I had this year. I wasnt happy about how my time at the Dragons finished up because of those injuries"
