Titans youngster suspended over positive steroid test.

Rugbyleaguelive.com | 27/07/09

The NRL has immediately suspended Gold Coast under-20s player Travis Drought after the player tested positive to banned substance Nandrolone.

The league has handed down a provisional suspension after the positive ‘A’ sample test, which will be cancelled if Drought’s ‘B’ sample comes up negative.

Drought will be able to appeal to the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority if his ‘B’ sample also tests positive.

The ASADA will notify the player when the ‘B’ sample test will take place.

Earlier this year, Sharks NRL player Reni Maitua was handed a two-year ban after he tested positive to banned drug Clenbuterol.

Well there goes his sporting career, unless he wants to play AFL of course, they seem to be ok with drugs in their sport.

I find it amazing, bizare even when such a professional club like the 4th time luckies, would have a player test positive to steroids. How would he get hold of them ?

How dumb have you gotta be...

Pretty fu*king stupid thats for sure.

I guess there trying so hard to get that elusive spot in the NRL they are willing to cheat to get there.

I have never heard of the kid, and i am guessing never will again, thrown his dreams in the toilet.

Searle will make an example out of him, and so he should, dumbar*s

Alot easier to get then you think, ask enough parmacists and someone will sell it to you or you can go to the local gym, close your eyes and point at someone and you will have a one in two chance he takes and/or supplies.

I wonder who it is. Lawton has a crazy physique for a 19 year old.

Hope it is not Lawton, he is a future top grader.

While we all know who it is now after the name was released, I can guarantee you Kayne Lawton will not test positive to anything on a banned substance list ever.

The guy is a gym freak. All natural. He is amazingly strict with his diet ( which is based on a natural bodybuilders ), and he is out of this world crazy with the Bodyscience supplements he takes at certain times of the day, right to the minute.

On top of that, and knowing the family well, his father was a former boxer, and was a massive muscular nugget as well when in his younger days. The mother is as fit as it gets for someone in their 40's.

The genetics play a huge part with his build, and he is totally natural.

Its upsetting to him ( albeit flattering ) that because of his build there is often the thought its not all natural.

Can't speak on behalf of the rest of the NRL, but with Kayne, he is totally anti all that illegal crap, and is simply blessed with great genetics, and has a good attitude to diet/supplements that other footballers can ( and do - ask his team mates ) learn from.
