Learoyd-Lahrs back for Raiders

30/03/2010 1:46:16 PM

The CFMEU Canberra Raiders will welcome back NSW forward Tom Learoyd-Lahrs, for their match against the Wests Tigers on Easter Sunday at Canberra Stadium.
Learoyd-Lahrs returned to the field on Sunday for the Souths Logan Magpies in the Queensland Cup and got some valuable game time in ahead of this weekends match.
His inclusion in the team is the only change following the loss to the Titans, as Learoyd-Lahrs replaces Travis Waddell who is out for up to 12 weeks with a double fracture in his jaw.
Learoyd-Lahrs said he’s looking forward to getting back into some NRL footy and said he felt fit and ready to go.
“I got some good minutes last weekend for Souths Logan and the knee feels good so I can’t wait to get into it on Sunday,” Learoyd-Lahrs said. “It’s an important game against the Tigers and I know the team is keen to make amends for last weekend.”

Don't know about Tongue at hooker for the full 80, his effectiveness dies off after about 20.

Good to see big Tom back.

It may take awhile, but to see him in top flight will make for awesome viewing.

Hahahhahaa.... nice one matt.

Thats a big bench, without much versatility in the pack either. I'd hate a back to go down.

We'll see, continuity in the team is a good thing but I get the feeling that some of the named players have had decent runs without performing really well.

Anyway, do us all proud guys. You have the talent to win against any team when you play well... just hold the ball.

Last time Troy Thompson played well was in that 50 point flogging of the Titans a few years ago ( i think..)

Tongue has the brain to be a good hooker just not quick enough we should get the points here

As Timbo has kindly pointed out,We do still have such brilliantly capable athletes that provide us with stability and the X factor...I thinks those Tigers are going to be smashed from the get go.

countdown until TLL next injury....

thommo is obviously well liked so he will never be dropped no matter how bad he is.

Tongue at hooker for 80min
They will be lucky to score more points than last weeks 4.

Again I ask why was Herbert dropped? McCrone has now stunk it up for two straight games.

Furner you have completely lost the plot.

Agree 100%

Tell me what halfback would of performed well last week with the way the forwards played. We made FA ground and then dropped the ball.
If that was Herbert against the Titans everyone would be lynching him.

Its a no win situation for our 2 halfbacks and Furner.

Im not agreeing with the Herbert dropping in the first place , what is done is done, McCrone is there now and will dominate behind a pack that hangs onto the ball.

I dont like the left and right half pairing , we looked so much better when we play the traditional halves.

edit: I did quote the whole lot , I dont know why it didnt come up.

We are no chance against the Tigers. Their line speed is way too fast for our clumsy and inept game plan.

30 points is about right IMO.

The most disgraceful performance the club has put forward in 16 odd years last week and as you know as well there has been an abundance of tripe in that period..

How i see it ,we are mental midgets away from home, and only win at home if the other team doesnt turn up.

Tigers by 24 I reckon they look focussed.

I just watched the highlights of sl's win on the weekend; herbert looked very good setting up 3 tries and scoring one himself. Just makes me more dissapointed to see mccrone selected ahead of him.

TLL allowed a very soft try in the first half aswell.
