June 02, 2009 Canberra have re-signed in-form second-rower Tom Learoyd-Lahrs until the end of 2011.
After playing a lead role in Canberra's 34-18 win over South Sydney on Monday night, Learoyd-Lahrs said he was grateful the club had stuck by him during a recent injury crisis.
"There's been a couple of lean years for me with injury which has halted my progress, Learoyd-Lahrs said.
"But having said that it made me realise you have to work pretty hard on those areas and I think as a player it's helped me to knuckle down a bit more and concentrate on getting my body right."
To cap off a remarkable past 24 hours, Learoyd-Lahrs's second child Macey was born on Monday night.
"My partner Amber and I feel very much at home in Canberra and were settled here and it was a plan the whole time to get a new deal here and Ive done that and Im very happy," Learoyd-Lahrs said.
