So we are looking for a winger and half, with Moses and Lomax out.

Assuming Hawkins comes in at 7.

But who plays wing? Do we put Samrani back there? Or do we pick Tago? Pensini jr could be an option, but is he ready ?

However I hope we go with Papalii, he is unlikely to get a chance at 1 anytime soon. So it's probably our best opportunity to debut him, he deserves it with some pretty good cup form.

We could either start him on the wing, or from the bench with Samrani starting. And bring him on when Samrani goes to edge. We could even give Smith a break, 10 mins either side of halftime.

Hawkins will be 7 - that's why we brought him to the club.

Samrani wont be put in the backline - he's being developed into a forward and you don't change that after 2 games when he has being coming on well.

Papalii isn't a winger. He's a fullback. Not every FB makes a good winger.

Dunster is injured, Simo is injured so really that leaves Tago, or a call up for Dick Penisini.

I'd like to see Dick get a go.

I note Volkman only played 75 mins in Cup. Injury?
He's been playing really well apparently. Toss up between him and Hawkins. Wtf is up with Dunster now?

Yep Hawkins will be the 7

Its going to be wet game.

Manly ain't necessarily a very good team in the grind.

The wet probably negates there pacey backline.

You can win games with strong defence and simple game plan in this period of the year.

That has to be the plan this week.

1. Iongi
2. Russell
3. Penisni
4. Samrani
5. Addo-Carr
6. Brown
7. Hawkins
8. Doorey
9. Smith
10. Paulo
11. Williams
12. Kautoga
13. Hopgood

14. Walker
15. Moretti
16. Matterson
17. Mataele
18. Papalli

No need to move Iongi, Russell can play wing to accommodate Samrani starting in the centre - if it works, then when Lomax comes back from origin Ryles can think about giving Penisini a spell in Cup.

Doorey actually playing will mean Williams does time as an edge again, and Moretti can come from the bench and not miss tackles. If the forwards can defend like last week, then we might stay competitive at least - and not get lapped by too much.

I like the look of this side who Trbdecmevic will take out his frustration of being broken down.

That would be my backline too with Russell more a ready made winger than Samrani. Will be interesting to see if Kelma fit in anywhere with his suspension now served, I dare say will slot in place of Mataele?, does Matto still retain over Doorey?

“While Papalii has played everywhere in the backline, the Punchbowl product is expected to spend some time at dummy half against the Sea Eagles.”

interesting

Looks like he’ll be getting a shot

Was a massive Parramatta fan because of Jarryd Hayne fan according to the article.

Just reinforces how that 2009 run he did truly did inspire a new generation of Parramatta supporters.

In an interview last October, Papalii said he grew up a Parramatta supporter who dreamed of making his debut for the club.
“When I was young I used to support Parramatta. There was this guy called Jarryd Hayne and everything changed,” Papalii said.

“I was a big fan of Jarryd Hayne coming through, just seeing him shine, do the Hayne Plane every time he scores a try, I was a massive fan of him as a kid.”

Iongi is a lock at fullback and we have wing covered (unless like this week we have a few out). While Walker is our bench utility (but I think we could still carry Papali on the bench as well).
would love to see him get a run.

Manly carry hopoate on the wing and he's not big.

just need to switch him out when the bombs come. A bit like Lomax and Samrani switching positions during the game.
