TLT Round 5 Vs the Dragons

We had the same thoughts on Lomax before 2024. The attack isnt going anywhere so he tries the miracle play with the chip and chases, miracle flick passes etc

Flannagan simplified his game and he excelled

Now hes in his own head again trying too hard to make things happen. When Moses returns youll see his aerial attack but other than that I truly think hes playing in the wrong position
Hard to disagree. Lomax is a winger - an extremely good one - and should be playing there. He has some extra skills that might make him something else (even a fullback) one day, but not today.

Can't fault the level of effort, putting some high paid teammates to shame.

yeah wouldn't mind him closer to the action preferably Fullback or since our 6 is out of sorts, 6. Put Dyl at left centre where he can defend and he plays on the left and Will back to the right where he is more comfortable

lomax is a winger and that’s all. If he develops a passing game he can be a centre/fullback/five-eight
That's what he is trying to do. He's arguably the best winger and now he wants to move to the next level by developing his centre skills

Jarryd did it, guth did it. Some would argue he's one of our best 2 centres

Smith may not play extra minutes in the end... but it will be interesting to see how he goes starting the game, in amongst the tough stuff that Hands and Lussick had previously soaked up before Smith entered play.

Jarryd and Guth were wingers than became fullbacks. I know Guth was selected once or twice as an Origin centre, but he wasn't really a centre imo.

I'd be happy for Lomax to have a go for the next level as fullback - but we need a centre/winger option than can be solid/contribute there, in order for that to occur.

Thing is we have iongi there. He hasn't been that bad

If he plays 6,he fills a spine role and he's cheap. We can then spend more on a centre and forwards

Yeah, Iongi will develop ok at fullback I think. But I don't think Zac (or Iongi) is a #6.

At the moment neither is Dylan Brown, so that's really the main issue. I'll be interested to see how Dylan Walker is used of the bench this week, and whether he changes positions at all while on the field.

So it's conundrum, and until we get someone who can confidently play centre in the new structures which are apparently troubling some folk, then moving Lomax around is just deck chairs on the titanic.

Just think he should be around the ball more

As others have pointed out we've struggled without Gutho for years. Just having him out on the field with the boys on the weekend will have a positive effect

On that note. This game has Gutho MOM all over it. And he is the sort of player that will be desperate to pull their pants down.

I hope we really spent lots of time on him this week and can do a job on him.

No mention of the swarm march pre-game outside the leagues club.

Has it been canned already after 2 games ???
