Weird rumors floating around that Sanders will sign with Canberra and leave after round 6 I doubt that as he could just go now... Plus if that is the case we would be playing Lynn in CUP..
It was reported that due to changes in the RLPA collective bargaining agreement, Sanders is not free to negotiate with other clubs for 2025 until Round 6 (rather than last November). So maybe he hasn't told us where he stands yet either, and is still getting picked.

But if Sanders negotiates and signs to leave for 2025, then (as with any soon to be off-contract player) it comes down to whether we cut him loose early - and what we might be able to get (or do more easily) squad-wise in return for doing so.

Hi Team,

long time no post.

Now I am a stupid man but can anyone confirm the following.

Ethan Sanders is not in the top 30
Blaize Talagi is.
We have Top 30 spots available
You can't play players outside of the top 30 until round 9 or something.
In case no merkin has answered this yet, all your statements are correct except the last line. Moretti is outside the top 30 and he has been in the team since round two.

Asi will play 7 like has been in Cup.
I wonder if he will play left or right this week. He has been playing on the right in the Knock Shop Effect NSW Cup, but that might've been to allow the youngster (Sanders) to play on his preferred left side. However Asi is also a left footer, while Drown is a right footer. Drown has remained on the left in Moses' absence, but this week he and Asi will either both play on their preferred kicking side, or neither of them will. It's very exciting.

It's good we have Blaize a crack. Problem for me is he wasn't kicking the door down in CUP to get picked in the NRL it was only because of injury.

Yes I get it players get injured and you have to find someone to cover for them but when was the last time we had a junior come through demanding to be picked?

Was it Brown?
Penisini
Leads me to another Question why haven't we had. A stream of youngsters come through in the past 5 years..
Covid sent the PLC broke

Sanders will sign a 3 year deal with Canberra within 2 weeks, and be playing for their cup team by round 8. That’s why he isn’t being picked, it’s because there is zero point blooding a guy in the NRL who won’t be at the club in any capacity in 3-4 weeks.

I would like to think if he is going to be released we are getting something back from Canberra.

Otherwise what is the point of letting him go early for Ricky's benefit. He is not even clogging up a Top 30 spot.

Is that an opinion or a rumour from somewhere without source ?

Let's be fair, the whole team played below their best. Emu is a toiler and still finding his way back. He deserves a lot more support before the idea of shit canning him comes into play.
He’s barely played all season and then when back into first grade he’s thrusted into the starting role. Our coach is a deadset whomble.

Bringing in Morgan is hardly going to make us stronger. But when BA drops a players it is generally a sign he wants him out of club.
Sivo for Lomax perhaps?
I think that’s the most depressing thing I’ve read in my life as an Eels fan, “Bringing in Morgan will make us stronger”

“And it was right there when I knew the Arthur,,MON and co had f**ked up”

You need to educate yourself better. Bennett had a wish list, and it was shown in one episode of the Dolphins documentary. He explained the benefits of older players. He also wanted some younger ones.

You’re assuming those are the only players he could get. Never assume.
Sounds like he’s needs to put you on ignore then?
