- We have just learned that current TNA star Chris Candido passed away on Thursday night. He was 33 years old.

Details are very sketchy at this point as there are conflicting reports regarding the cause of his death. Candido suffered a broken leg at the Lockdown PPV this past Sunday in Orlando and underwent surgery on Monday. He was able to work the Impact! tapings on Tuesday night before returning to his home. It is believed his recent surgery was the cause of death, although that has yet to be confirmed at this point.

Candido played a very strong role in the first taping for Impact! where America's Most Wanted defending the NWA World Tag Team Titles against The Naturals in the main event. There is no word on what TNA will be doing for the episode of Impact! tomorrow at 4pm as of late tonight.

On behalf of everyone on WrestleView.com we send out our condolences to the family and friends of Chris Candido during this very hard and shocking time.

For those of you who might not be familiar with Chris, he was one half of ex-WWF tag team champions the Body Donnas.

Further News: It appears that the cause of death was a blood clot caused after complications from the surgery.

Jesus, that's awful. Candido was very talented, and to die so young (regardless of what you do in life) is awful.

My condolences go out to his friends and family. He's a loss to the wrestling community.

Drugs can still cause blood clots, but I think it was most definately the surgery in this case.

it made me think very very hard to remember this guy but i remember him from some old pay per views and of course the link to sunny makes it easier to remember him. ive read alot about him (ive sorta tuned out of wrestling the last 3 years , i used to be a massive supporter) but apparently in the last few years hes made a good recovery in the TNA and broke his leg last sunday, had surgery, appeared on there weekly show the next day, and then thursday morning (usa time) he passed away

Yes he was in ECW.

The pressure on the indie performers is huge and the pay-offs are pretty poor. Sometimes they have no choice.

Its very sad. He and Tammy had cleaned up and this was the big come back... Kinda like X-Pac is trying to do

Chris was also one of the few wrestlers to tell vince to his face that vince is f**king mad

Yep!
I enjoyed him in ECW around 98 when he was in a stable with Shane Douglas and Bam Bam Bigelow.
33 is far too young, great loss.
