Too all the ignorant knockers my point of view is we dont have the cattle in certain positions but the coach and recruiting staff are doing their utmost to sign the players required. We currently have to many backrowers of similar style we dont have one who punches through the line consistantly. We dont have a backup hooker and the one we have is only just starting to hit his straps. In the backline we have three young developing players who are lucky to have 30 nrl games between them. My point is it would not matter if we had Bennet ,Stuart ,Taylor or who ever we still have the poorest roster in the comp. Add to that we lack some real intimidation in the pack.I want Coach Kearney to be given his full term and i am sure within 2 seasons we will be challenging for a title.

Yeah, we've clearly shown over these two seasons that we have a premiership in us over the next two...

We are lacking in certain areas but so is every club. That's where you adjust your game plan to suit the cattle you have but Kearney only has one game plan and that's a Melbourne style they abandoned a couple of years ago because the game is constantly evolving and they were forced to. Stupid thread. If he is such a great coach why aren't first grade players doing simple things like running in numbers and running effective decoy lines. It's like they don't train for that stuff.

That's bullcrap. We have one of the best players in the game in Hayne. Promising youngsters in our backline in Blair/Sio and a centre with rep experience in Tonga. Sandow was one of the form halfbacks last season and we have forwards with rep experience in Poore, Hindmarsh, Mannah, Maitua and Fui. To say we do not have the cattle is a lie.

I am happy with the arguement we don't have the cattle but if any side with sandow and hayne in it that struggles to score points it does point to an under lying issue !!

It's easy to say our roster is the primary concern, but really, I don't think it is.

Let me go over an ideal full-strength team;

Hayne is world-class, Burt is solid. Willie Tonga, whilst under-performing presently, is a very good centre.
Cheyse Blair has man-handled Matt Cooper, Ben Pomeroy and others over the past few weeks and is really stepping up; he has been one of our best recently, despite making some mistakes, he still gains many metres and is a powerful runner.
Ken Sio is a good winger that has no major weaknesses in his game; as is expected for a youngster, he has the odd mistake in his game.

Our halves are solid at worst and dazzling at best. Our forward pack is under-performing but filled with a strong core, including good up-and-coming players such as Allgood and Ryan.

Our team is not the main concern. We are lacking in confidence and our inability to adapt during a game to new defensive and attacking structures is the real killer. Kearney rightfully shouldn't be blamed for everything, but I don't know of any other team that is seemingly unwilling to exploit an opposition's weaknesses.

The worrying thing about this dumb thread is I get the impression those employed at the club as board members and officials think the same way. And that's why we are where we are.

#ButNotFarAwayFromWhereWeWantToBe
I want success from our team and i travel from Newy every week to support them as well, unlike some.Maybe there is a problem with some of the board and i think that it is that they are not as passionate about their jobs as we are about our team. That is my say i dont post much on here but i do get sick of reading a lot of shit.

I read a lot of shit on here as well, which is why I put my first ever ignore on someone on Friday. And it wasn't True Eel, so that's how bad this bloke is.

I personally think that we have a multitude of problems for why we are struggling at the moment, not just one, which is what most people on here will try and make you believe.

For example, someone brought up in another thread our lack of dominance in the ruck, both defensively and attacking wise. This is a problem that has generally been endemic since the last Brian Smith years. We had it under Hagan and Anderson, although Taylor's reign was too short for me to remember whether we were weak in this department during his tenure.
It is certainly an issue which I thought Kearney would have addressed by now, coming from the club that is the best in the business in dominating the ruck in every facet. It is an issue of his coaching in which I am certainly unhappy with. But I don't know whether our players just don't have it in them to be able to do it either, hence why we seem to be targeting angrier players.

Last year it was the backs this year it's the forwards. This not having the cattle crap is getting old

Look at dogs their halves are shit but they're turning up for dessie, their forwards ran 10th last year and have now picked up another level. Sk is just unable to get the best out of his players

But it's not just the coach. There must be something as to why the players just arnt pulling together

I don't doubt they are somewhat passionate mate. They wouldn't have become board members if they weren't. But this continuing accepting of mediocrity and not being aware of certain issues, including those raised by fans, has me puzzled over what they actually know or don't know. Being a board member is a voluntary position with incentives, but the blind optimism in Kearney and the lack of explanation in that apart from the continual "We believe in his plan" doesn't offer much faith to fans.
