He had a great game tonight....started like to top calss player he was a few years back....he set a platform that our team should have used to full advantage, but we just don't have the attacking weapons to finish things off.

Great work Micky!!!

I actually thought he shaded all of Penrith's front-rowers, especially in defense. He pulled-off a couple of good hits which was nice to see.

Were you born this way or had it developed over the years? Vella was easily the best forward out there today, especially at the start.

I was very impressed with Vella tonight.
He was running the ball pretty hard and was good in defence.
I agree WA Eel, he was our best forward tonight.

People that called for his release are idiots he got up to the usually dominant Penrith forwards. I think in that 1st half we matched it with the best. The try just before halftime really really hurt us and the boys came out with their heads down.

Vella scored his first try since...

Round 24, 2001 vs Wests Tigers!

Good on him.

Some of the Penrith crowd were giving him heaps before the try, "Vellas a trannie" etc etc.

even if you don't like vella usually, you can't deny his form lately.

I don't care if it is only because its contract time for him... keep signing him on one-year deals so its Always contract time for him and we'll be right!!

I don't believe it is contract time for Micky....I think he has another year on his contract.....he's just putting in on the field - getting a little bit of form back like he used to have.

Why did you direct this post at the "Michael Vella Bashers"?

Don't you think that over the past 2 and a half years, he has given us plenty of ammuntion.

I have been one of his harshest critics, and am happy to now say that his form is improving, and last night was probably his best game since the Brisbane semi-final in 2002.
I'd love to see him put in more often. We all know he has the talent, speed and strength. But since 2001, he has rarely shown it.

Well played last night Mick. I'd love to see more of it. Credit where credit is due.

But when its not......................................

Suity
