you answered your own question there suity.

directed at the bashers, just so they are aware that the credit is due.
unlike yourself, some people are so stubborn they cant see past their steadfast opinions.

Thats true. Its called swallowing pride. There isn't a lot of it in this world.
If I'm wrong...so be it. I'll happily admit it.

I will give praise when it is due, and I'm not afraid to bag the same person when it is not.

HJ calls it a "get out of jail free" card. I call it open minded and being objective.

If we won a comp, there'd still be people calling for Smithy's head, and if we won the wooden spoon, there'd still be people saying nothing is wrong.

What's the point?

Why did you direct this post at the "Michael Vella Bashers"?

Because Vella was copping a pasting this week from some posters here....he has lifted his game of late and Saturday night was possibly his best for some time....yet some others are still desperate to knock him down.

I think some people get so fixated with thinking certain people under perform that they can't even tell when good things happen.....I have been critical of Vella at times in the last year or so, but he's really getting back some form this season and its good to see.

Without making excuses, because I think at, times, Vella has appeared to have gone AWOL, however....

His form now is probably due top the fact that he is actually fitter than he has been since 2001.

2002 he had a chronic knee injury which was operated on in the off season. He was playing hurt and not playing well. For a guy like Vella, who relies on his speed, this really hampered him.

Last year was really stop start. Injuries and I think a suspension meant he never really got going. He has always been slow to start a year, even in 2001.

The difference this year is that he has stayed fit, and built up his confidence.

Vella has always been good for this team.

I will remind you all that at least I stuck by him when the rest of you labelled him a player that had no heart.

Hey hunter,

Vella HASN'T always been good for this team.
He has been found guilty on MANY occassions of being a first rate bludger and as soft as butter.

But at the moment, he is playing almost to his undoubted potential.
And I am happy about that. I would love to see it continue. He has certainly been a huge influence on Parra's improved performances over the last couple of weeks.

And congratulations for sticking by him when he was underperforming.
You deserve a medal.

I commend your loyalty DvdHntr, but if we all supported players we like when they're out of form there wouldnt be much of a competitive team would there?

on a side note, can you explin the concept of hunting dvd's for me? or have i misinterpreted your name completely.
