the dux you are totally wrong on this one. morris has a shit kicking game! hes showed that on numerous occasions. and as eels fan said witt is only 20 and hasnt even played a full season in first grade.
i doubt the fact that he didnt put up many bombs to wesser was entirely his decision.
give him time for christs sake. im sure he could be a great player. he just got back from a suspension too..

i dont think we treat anyone as untouchable in fact we all seem to jump on everyone on the team for the smallest indiscretion but when its a young halfback like witt we all have to realise that he IS a young halfback and that he will improve.

We lacked direction today and my understanding of the game is that it's the halfback's job to provide that direction.

Our 5th tackle options in the second half were poor at best, isnt it the halfback's job to get into first receiver on the 5th tackle and get the kick away?

Just because he's "so DAMN hot" does not mean he played a great halfback's game today. As for the argument that he's only young, if he's not yet up to it, then he should be playing reserve grade.

I'll make up my mind right NOW. Witt is overrated. He had one magic game against Souths last year and kicked some goals from the sideline. Smith is not an idiot, he is playing him at 7 due to necessity not because he is the answer. He is NOT the answer. I wish he was I really do. He has to be the slowest 7 in the comp and he does not cancel this out with vision and a kicking game because he has not got one. Put Tim Smith at halfback and all you experts will see what a true halfback plays like.

I am entitled to my opinion. I think I will be proven right. Tim Smith is a BETTER halfback then Michael Witt. There are many people who agree with me. people who get to the games early like ME and watch the premier league. Have seen Witt in premmies too and he has done NOTHING in premmies either.

Witt had an off game I agree, but he also needs another playmaker. Wagon at 5/8 is not the answer, if someone like Thorman or Dykes was at 5/8 the attack wouldve been a lot better. I thought, like last week, we were beaten by a better team.

Wittzy's chick, if you read my comments, I simply observed that he did not have a good game. You insisted that it wasn't his fault we lost the game. My view is that if he'd played a good halfback's game, we would not have been so disorganised in attack and should have put the game away in the first half.

Now that you concede that he had a bad game, we're actually in agreement. then. Nowhere in my comments have I written him off as a player.

As for the comment about him being injured, that was late in the second half. It's actually the inability to turn possession into points in the first half which is of greater interest to me.

3 PL games or not Tim Smith is our future, he has far better organisational skills than any other half in the club. Witt is a good young player but he just does not have the natural skills of Tim nor has he come on as well as expected.

Actually neither Dykes, Witt or Thorman are the answer IMO and I doubt Smithy was chasing Orford and Gidley just for the fun of it. Wouldn't be at all surprised to see Tim blooded in first grade if we fall out of the race for the semis.

I'm all for giving a young bloke time. However, when Saints lose Willy Peters, they pull out Brett Firman, who outplayes Joey at marathon. Firman gets injured, and they pull out Matt Head, and his brilliant kicking game.

When Paul Green gets injured, Parra promote Witt who winds up timid after 15 or so appearances. His understudy, Smith, fails to impress in the reggies, despite the massive wraps on the kid. Meanwhile, Parra's long saga of halfback problems continues.

Witt may be the answer i the future. He is't now, and we cannot afford the luxury of a halfback who is not a top liner.

On Tim Smith he goes a lot better when he is 1st receiver the last two weeks Thorman has dropped down into reggies and taken over that role.

Thorman has played well in both games (in fact was very good tonight) but it has seen Smith drop into the background.

Give Tim Smith control of the side and watch hime shine.
