To all the Tim Smith knockers

Alot of people were critical of Tim Smith even last year and wanted Finch and Mateo as the halves combination.
Well you guys got your wish this year and we didn't make the finals. When Tim Smith was the halfback we never missed the finals and challenged for a place in the grand final on two occasions.
Now I'm not saying if we still had Tim Smith that things would have been different. I'm not saying that Finch is the reason we missed out on the finals either. Obviously the whole team played poorly all year. However, I do think it shows that Tim Smith added alot to the side when he was here which wasn't present in 2008.

I was wondering if the Tim Smith knockers still have the same opinion they had of him last year now that we've seen how the side went without him.

A lot of people bagged Tim Smith because the guy is just a complete goose....

Most would acknowledge that he was a talented footballer, and when on song was very good at what he did.

But we don't need people like him in the club....

Give it a rest champ he would not have made a scrap of difference, and am glad he is gone as harsh as that sounds.

Jeremey smith was the main halfback in 06, tim was injured during our winning streak into the semis. So you cant reward that year to tim

Also, have a look at the chances and patience the club gave him (and was willing to give him), and what does he do? walks out and a few short weeks later announces he is going to play in the UK?

yes I am slitting my wrists wishing timmy was back

Don't worry Timmy will join Manly and probably play with Lyon in halves. Orford will be England bound.. pretty much same script...

Um, Tim Smith ceased being a Parramatta player in April of his own choice.

It's really irrelevant.

Celebrate and remember Tim's great debut year for the Eels by all means. But he showed in two/four (?) games this season that his head wasn't right for it, and his presence or absence wouldn't have made an ounce of difference based on that form, and his own judgement that he couldn't step it up if he stayed.

if the fwds arent doing their job then any half back would struggle to come up with points.

cant blame it all on the halves combination. every player who took the field this year is responsible for the abysmal result of this season.

Everyone from coach down to reserves need to review their attitude before we can even consider having a chance next year.

There is absolutely zero doubt that we missed his creativity and organisation; Finch is just not creative nor is he up to running the side alone, and Mateo is not a true half...but the reasons for his departure were beyond control, so we had to make do. I think the better question is did we do the best we could to replace him with what we had? I'd say the answer is no...

F*ck Tim Smith. He doesn't have the discipline to stay off the piss. He is the epitome of the piss weak nature of our players.

Shove your Michael Hagan up your sarcastic arse.

LOL....f**k you :)

Having suffered depression, your attitude is f**king sh*t. I'm not getting into the argument any further than that, because clearly you have no f**king idea.

He is not depressed. He is a dirty piss taker that we wasted money on. He lied to us and was every bit as bad as Lyon. He can go and f*ck himself.

Depressed my arse.

Spot on. Bi-polar disorder seems to be the latest excuse for every money-hungry teeny-bopper who wants everything his way but can't stand up to the pressure and responsibility.

Some people are a joke. Attitudes like this are what makes mental illness such a big issue in our country.

If someone was stuck in a wheelchair you would not blame them for not walking... nor would you get up someone with diabetes... or asthma.

Typical... can't see the effects so they must be just 'soft in the head.'

Mate most of us would fall apart with the amount of pressure he was under.. and lets be honest is indiscretions are a hell of alot less then what I have done (being his age), and most people I know have done, yet alone suffering from something difficult like bi-polar as well.

Some people need to get a reality check and realise that footballers are people as well with as many flaws/health problems as the rest of society.
