Choc at 5/8 would solve nothing...he is a fullback and a great player for us at the back....his willingness to put his body on the line is unmatched as a fullback in the NRL

are you talking about the guy who wont catch a bomb anymore?

That would be the same bloke that can spark something from nothing at any given moment? Would that be the same guy that scored a record 245 points in a season a few years ago? Would that be the guy that has been on the verge of rep football for a fair while now?

I hate to say it quinny, he is out there playing first grade football for a reason, the same reason you sit behind a keyboard and hang sh*t on him........

Yes but im not paid 300k plus to do it, he is. Stop living in the past man. Who cares what he did a few seasons ago. now is what matters and now he simply is nowhere near his form of old

Pffffft... Yeah right

It didn't happen in 03 or 04, so what makes you think the selectors will change their minds now?

There's no way in hell that they would pick Schif over Wesser, Sing, Slater, etc., especially after what Slater did this year.

simple, his form will be far too good to ignore - Sing is gone, that leaves a possy open for either Ty Williams, Wesser or Schif

Wesser has been poo since 03 just as i predicted, a one year pony, Williams might get given a go but i recon he might cop the "too small for origin" treatment - now they could either put slater at fullback and schif on the wing or the other way around.

One good sign is that in some editorial circles Carney is being touted as the first choice halfback... Geez I hope they're right.

Elliot is a good coach, so that won't be a problem.

Azz, i think you should see a doctor...
Opinion is the key word being used here Kris_man. Go look it up in the dictonary.

i'll look up "opinion" if you look up "humour". might wanna get your eyes fixed up too, how can it be a keyword if it's not even present?

on Qld jumpers: Frawley and Mogg have a much better chance than Schif does. Schif's only chance is at fullback, where he faces the impossible (< keyword) task of jumping Bowen, Slater and Wesser in the queue. Frawley, and to a lesser extent Mogg, can both play either centre or wing, and although their competition is stiff - Tonga, Bell, Ty Williams, etc., it's not as tough as it is for the fullback spot. plus, there's 4 positions as opposed to one.

Contenders for QLD three-quarter positions:

B Tate, C Walker, J Hodges, T Martin, R Wesser, T Williams, B Slater, C Frawley, S Donald, A Mogg, S Berrigan, P Bowman, S Bell, W Tonga, M Bowen*, K Hunt*, C Schifcofske*

17 players in total. first 10 eligible to play wing. 11-14 centre only.

* = probably will be fullback or nothing.

unless something drastic happens like injury, this willl be the backline:
1. Bowen
2. Tate
3. Berrigan
4. Tonga
5. Slater

Raiders players, apart from Frawley, have little to no chance

Hunt will beat them all for the state or orgin fullback job

Slater and Tate will own the wing spots with Berrigan and Tonga in the centres.

*just posted after Kris*

Bowen will still be used off the bench

Hunt has a fair way to go....as does Bowen unless his form drops dramatically, Wesser will get the spot

Wasn't Lincoln Withers set to play in the halves spot? I read it somewhere a fair while back

Yeah I wouldn't have Withers as a starting Halfback. I would tend to pick Carney over him.

only Matt Elliott knows...but knowing Matt Elliott, Withers will be the halfback. I can just imagine him saying - "I just think it adds a bit of power to your side when you have a great defensive halfback like Lincoln"

With Lincoln here long term I think it is fair to assume that he is here to take over from Woolford when he retires/go to England, with the possibility of this happening as early as the end of next season I can't see why Elliott would have someone he is going to use as a fulltime hooker at halkfback for just one season, it makes much more sense to let Carney develop and gel with the side for 1 year instead of having a temp halfback.

Well thats what I think anyway.

We have to start Toddy next year he is ready for it. He will play a few bad games but that will not affect him at all he will just be better for it and it will deffinatly improve him. And he will not get affected by the media he hates them talking about him.
