Toilet bowl needs a scrub.

I have attended every Home and away game the saints have played at anz this season. Before every game myself and Stel make contact with the stadium and inform them of the dragon army seating arrangement and also re confirm the banner registration for our flags, poles, banners and horns/musical instruments. We communicate with the events manager on a weekly basis and he gives us the run down of what we can and cant take in with us for the games.

NOW, we have been told on many occassions in the past, that only dogs games have a restriction to musical instruments. We were not informed of any rule against a horn at any other game.

Yesterday i arrived to the game with 6 banners and 3 big flags which have all featured at previous games this season. At every one of those games, we had a spread sheet located at the table of every gate with our names on it. This spread sheet indicates we have registered these items as per the condition of entry.

I arrive at gate M yesterday because my friends had tickets only allowing them to enter through that gate. When walking past the security, I am confronted with " is that banner longer than 1.4m" (dope) and my flag poles are nearly 2m long. I turn to him and advise him that they are registered and i bring them in to every game. He laughs at me like im lying and says "you cant take them in". At this point i have already lost my temper (doesnt take long to lose my temper) at the fact that i have been questioned regarding this. I confront him and say. I bring these in every week and have done so all year. I gave him the name of the contact I have been talking to from the stadium on a weekly basis and he laughs once more. He then says that the security company have strict orders and they dont deal with the anz staff. So i approach one the the anz staff and request she calls a supervisor to assist. The supervisor comes over and takes 20 minutes to look through her folder and doesnt find this magical spread sheet. I am lucky she remembered my face and said it was ok for me to enter.

I then approach the gate, all my friends are in and stuck outside. Why.......because my season ticket only allows me to enter through gate 'O' which is closed. Which means gate 'B'. This means I have to walk all the way around to the other side of the complex to enter. I requested they allow me to enter through the side gate as I have a season ticket and they once again laugh at me.

I finally get into the toilet bowl and the army is slowing gathering. Our horn specialist is getting his lungs gowing and a guy in a suit comes over and says "guys.........look.............you really sound great...........and your creating a great atmosphere............however.............you cant have the horn" i look at him and disbelief and inform him of the arrangement we have with the club and stadium. He says he will ook into it and come back. As soon as he walks off. SIX security guards come over to us and say get rid of it. We try to explian that the suit guy is coming back to us with the details but they wont even listen. They tell us he made his decision over the two way and start to get aggresive. So we put the horn away.

I think this stadium has some serious communication issues and they need to be addresses fast. I am sick of being treated like this. I am calling the club right now to inform them of these issues to avoid this happening next week.

thanks

If the security company doesn't deal with stadium staff, who the f**k controls and pays them ??? Or do they just turn up for the fun of it??
I hope you got this idiots details, with a bit of luck, toilet bowls may be the only thing he's securing from now on. f**k they sh!t me, it's only the fact that I've had my young bloke with me that I haven't given a few of them a smack in the mouth on quite a few occasions. Pricks.

I was sitting in bay 146 (behind the posts) with a friend who's a parra supporter and i could see all the drama unfolding. Its really not a good look to see security guards swarming around the army!

I go to quite a few Roosters games with my girlfriend, they (the chook pen), seem to have a really good arrangement with the club staff at SFS who actually bring out some large flags to distribute to the fans (and take them back at the conclusion).

I hope you get a good response from dragons marketing staff, after all its in their best interests to ensure a positive and fun atmosphere is created at all our home games, especially when the team isn't performing.

Ive never had any problems at ANZ but after hearing that woeful account, I'm amazed.

Colourful and clever banners as well as the odd horn blow add to the atmosphere whether they are for or against your team.

Fans go to a lot of trouble to get this gear together and into the ground for other's pleasure and benefit.

Tromping around the massive stadium with all that stuff and then being intimidated by security staff.

Its not on, neither is being laughed at by staff.

Surely they could have zapped his ticket and let him through the side gate easily enough.

For fugs sake, a guy holding a hostage, strapped with explosives holding a detanator would have had less trouble getting in.

Cooper man deserves an apology and some free tickets.

I wish him well with his quite vaild complaint.

I'm sick of "reasoning" with these grubs.
This stadium was the Olympic stadium, and it's run like it belongs to some bush league comp.

Sounds like a lack of communication.

For better or worst, you just have to keep on reasoning... its the only way if you wish to go forward. Anything else just makes it worse in the long run.

Take the high ground and keep cool guys, and if neccessary put it in writing afterwards.

Don't get angry, get even.

Always makes you feel better afterwards. :)

According to our man, he tried to reason with more than a few of them but that didnt help him one iota. Theres even an allegation of lying.

Every single one of the goons from Mr Sly Suit to Dipstick Doorman needs to be read the riot act in relation to customer service.

A banner here and the odd blow of the horn, did they think our lad was plotting to overthrow the government?

And how many people where held against their will by his flags?

I hope that they understand coops communications very clearly this time.

Yep, humans can be arseholes, especially those with a badge on their forehead.

I nominate someone from the burrow to read them the riot act. I understand they're best known for their ability to throw sandwich crusts further than anyone else in the league.

Personally I like see the ladies and gents from the Dragons stand up to dickheads while keeping their cool... something I'm sure they are already doing.

In my experience, more mileage can be gained that way.

Im not saying he should express himself unkindly or without due consideration to the sensibilities of the recipients but if his account is correct, then I'm pretty dissapointed with stadium staff and how he was dealt with.

If they continue in this vein, or dont take his complaints seriously, it will make me think twice about attending games there.

I would have thought that with all his credentials and his intended endeavour on the day, that he needed support and encouragement or at least some common sense understanding.

I wonder if this would happen if the game was AFL?

This game needs people like coops, they are life-blood of our sport.

I hope he keeps us posted on developments.

These security staff are frustrated because the police force rejected there application..:D

A couple of years ago i was told that i couldn't take a bucket of KFC into the ground, i had my family outside the gates with no extra money to buy food. We were faced with standing there and eating our dinner or walking away and missing the game..

Lucky we had a tupperware like container i ran back to the car and got it whilst my family made there way to the seats. I switched it over in the car and walked in towards another guard who didn't look inside it..

Little occurances like this really make you think twice about going to games.

All the stuffing around with traffic and car park crap make you at edge even before you get to the gates..We were very lucky my wife didn't loose it, i didn't want to miss the game..hehehe
