You picked the wrong one then
If you’d bother to read this thread before making dumb arse assumptions.

It had already been posted in this thread that Fifita and his family go to Tongan gatherings regularly .
Another poster has said his wife is Tongan and he sees Fifita at every single Tongan gathering they go to.

He is very much a part of the Tongan community in Sydney.

Here it is
Roostah posted this.

Being married to a Tongan woman I can tell you right now that Fifita is far more Tongan than Bennett is British. The Fifita brothers are at pretty well every major Tongan event I’ve been to in Sydney and the name Fifita is about as Tongan as it gets. He may have been born in Australia but that doesn’t mean his connection to Tonga is any less strong for being mixed and growing up into Aus.

Besides the point bro he is obviously proud of his heritage and as I’ve mentioned numerous times I have no problem with him playing for Tonga or anyone else playing for a country of their heritage.

Maybe he does know the national anthem who knows? My point is he is from Seven Hills not Nukuʻalofa. First and foremost he is an Australian of Tongan (and aboriginal) heritage and without him and players like him playing for other nations we wouldn’t have a World Cup

Stop arguing over nothing.

Stop correcting you do you mean?

If he’s eligible and wants to play for Tonga then why shouldn’t he?
You don’t know the first thing about him.
That was clearly obvious from the start.

LOL man I’m not even going to bother anymore.

If it makes you feel better I concede Andrew Fifita is fully Tongan and I hope he becomes King one day.

I just can't agree.
I wouldn't call it a strip, it doesn't have the hallmarks of your 1:1.
Go look at a 'normal' strip where players literally reef the ball out with force , or Thurston having that pulling motion as he goes in for the tackle in origin.
Intent is to strip the ball.

This tackle is your text book go in hard with your arm swinging in to dislodge the ball because the dumbo fatfita has poor ball security.

Everyone does it, and it'll be a knock on/poor ball security all the time when called correctly (aware of calls going the other way in the past).
I would agree with that if there werent other examples of tries being given when someone loses the ball forward after a tackler has dislodged the ball. It happened with the Kiwi's in the 2008 RLWC final.

Why? If it was the correct call from the on field ref?

Having an English video ref over rule that would be much worse.
My sentiments exactly. If the ref is 100% happy with his decision then it’s game over. Cecchin was confident it was a knock on therefore it’s irrelevant what happens after that. The problem now is everyone clamours for the VR on every little incident just to prove the ref wrong. Refs can’t win. If they go to VR every time they get slated. If they make a mistake (believe it or not they ARE human) then it’s trial by television.

Just watching the game again. Forgot to mention Fusitua passing early without drawing the fullback in the 15th min costing Tonga a likely try (the Jennings double movement). Basic stuff and another example of the dumb Island footy that cost Tonga far more than any imagined ref errors.

All over Sydney there are small but close Tongan community.

Every Sunday they go to the same church together, their kids grew up together, they go to the same school, they all play in the same footy team and they all live in the same suburb.
They are 100% Tongan blood.

But according to some posters on this forum they aren't entitled to play for Tonga because they were born in Australia ???

BTW it doesn't matter how many times I see it ...the ball was played at, pulled out of Fifitas arm, he regathered and scored. Its black and white.

Roo's to win the final by 30+

And your opinion on the possible double movement and forward pass in the earlier Tongan trys?

That is fair, but only if ref applies it evenly.

I reckon if it was Cam Smith or Billy Slater he would have had a look at it.

Was out yesterday so just watched it after disconnecting from the world so i I dint hear the Score!

Wow, what a game. One of the most epic World Cup games of all times. Well done tonga and your fans, you’ve been amazing. England dominant for 70mins but needed some luck at the end to win it. What an incredible World Cup tbis has been. I feel sorry for those nrl fans who seemingly can’t enjoy international RL!

What an odd interpretation of this tweet.
Hurrell proclaiming his pride in representing Tonga is a bad thing?

I wouldn't disagree with that. We've let dissent creep into the game. It happens in SL too. You'd think these "superstars" made the right decision every time. Even if we simply limit it to the captain asking the questions we get every decision questioned by the likes of Smith. It needs to stop but the players, coaches and media would crucify the refs for daring to put a stop to it.
