By no means was he the reason we lost tonight, but come on, can somebody PLEASE tell me how this bloke is in the top 17 players????
For his size he has no heart and he takes 20 steps to gain any sort of momentum.
If Whare or Hopoate are not better options on the wings than him I'll turn it up.
Dessy is a great coach but I can't see for the life of me see the persistence with this bloke.

He is exceptional when playing o/s Jamie Lyon, otherwise his involvement for a strikingly large man is underwhelming. On the flip side, I believe his performances are much improved from last season, next year he may well become devastating, we'll just have to wait and see.

It looks to me that someone needs to make him mad, or maybe he is a bit scared at running at the line.

I think he is playing pretty well this season, and would be our best player if his involvement went up 100%.

More runs please T-Rex, even take a few hitups one off the ruck to give our forwards a rest.

He plays with 1/4 the intensity of a guy like Slater. Not only does he doesnt hit the ball up enough, he's half-assed on kick chases and defense. Bring in Hoppa.

Yer it's quiet fashionable to bag Tony Williams. Even when he is playing ok.

Top metres run last night, top tackle breaks as well, no errors, 2 tries. What more do you want? He's 21 and will get even better.

My concern is Hodkinson. Crap kicking options, missed tackles. Manly look so much more dangerous when Foran is kicking and organising attack.

Its been weeks since either Foran or Hokko put on a try assist. Foran's doing bugger all out there at the moment too. I'd like to see DCE brought in. Once Hokko signed with the dogs, he should have been shipped back to lower grades.

As for Williams, he's play a lot better to last year. No doubt about it. Is he playing anywhere near a man of his size should, probably not. I don't think his runs are a huge problem, it would be nice to see him hit the line with pace, but in defence he is grabbing jerseys and getting caught out of position. He got owned last night.

With Lyon on his inside he seems ok, as Igor pointed out.

I have no idea what games you are watching but Foran is trying his ass off out there. The only weak link in the halves pairing is Hodkison and thats all there is to that.

His kicking has been poor and he hasn't be credited with a TA in about 10 weeks. For that matter neither has Hokko either. They are both missing loads of tackles.

Foran may well turn out to be the messiah, but right now his form is just as bad as Hokko.

He crossed the stripe against Penrith but it was hardly a tricky run.

Yeah thats the disappointing thing, either he is scared of getting injured by running hard or he is not aggressive enough. someone needs to photoshop pictures of his mum doing the opposing winger and give them to him just before the game.

To be fair Foran has been injured for a chunk of those matches and also had to fill in at centre.

I think Tony is rated a bit harshly, look at the stats regarding his involvement and he's top 10 in all the main areas among outside backs.

I'm not so sure he can hit the line at top pace like smaller guys, he's too bloody big, I think he would need 50m to hit top speed.

His defence and urgency is the main problem, happy with his involvement at the moment though.

Like I said, I'm not by any means blaming him for the loss (no-one wold have touched the Panthers Fri night).

But are there stats for bad reads in defence, lumbering the ball back with no intensity at all, passing the ball to other players in worse positions (and half the size) for kick returns, lack of involvement by trying to take more dummy half runs when we're deep in our own territory.

When he gets into dummy half, the majority of times he passes it for someone else to ruck it out. For his size its he who should be is doing the bullocking out of our end.

He is a lot better than last year, and is trying, but good intentions don't necessarily make you a better player than others who aren't being given a run.

Fair enough if he had the speed and ability to create like a Manu Vatuvei you'd cop it. But he just seems scared most of the time. I'm not sure if he's a quiet bloke by nature and so finds it hard to assert himself or what.

As for the tries, you can't call on that stat, anyone who can catch a footy and run 10 meters could have scored all but maybe one or two of his tries this year.

I don't like to bag a Manly player, but can you honestly tell me that Hopoate or Whare wouldn't bring more to the table than Williams at the moment?

As a Manly fan from what I have seen of all three players, I'd pick Tony Williams to sit at my table... he'd probably appreciate the food a little more than the other two combined.

When running the ball hard he is absolutely devastating.

The problem is that these hitups are few and far between. Maybe one or two a match.

Numerous times when given the opportunity to return the ball, he'll pass it to Farrar (who proceeds to be smashed by the kick chase) or hit it up half ar*ed.

Basically, fire up T-Rex.
