Found this at P.I

Matt Elliott has pruned down his initial 32 man squad to 25. Good to see Jennings and Daniela still in the squad.

Interesting. Got to say that there are a few surprises (or should I say ommissions), most notably Peters, Trindall and Smith from the top squad - but as we all know, players from the second squad can still make first grade... this 25 would be mostly for the purposes of season guides, etc. But great to see Jennings in the 25!

Also, I suppose it's a given that Firman WILL be a Panther in 2007, by being named in the top squad.

The top squad looks strong-ish...

A 17 from the top squad:

1. Rhys Wesser
2. Michael Gordon
3. Luke Lewis
4. Michael Jennings
5. Luke Rooney
6. Peter Wallace / Brett Firman
7. Craig Gower
8. Joel Clinton
9. Luke Priddis
10. Matthew Cross
11. Tony Puletua
12. Trent Waterhouse
13. Shane Rodney

14. Paul Aiton
15. Frank Pritchard
16. Bryan Norrie
17. Frank Puletua

good to see some young props like Hlad and Grant in the second squad and also promising backrowers like Nightingale and also Marshall.

Also good to see Joseph Paulo's rapid progression...he didn't even play flegg last year...Straight from SG Ball to PL perhaps.

No idea where Jarrod Sammut and Junior Moors are but.

And Jarrad Sammut too... I'm in summer (cricket) mode at the moment... any other time I would have instantly noticed Moors' and Sammut's omissions...

Junior Moors is in the second squad.
I have just logged into P.I and Rob must be working on the list at the moment. He has now added astericks to 5 or 6 players names as those being FAST TRACKED.

Nathan smith in second squad . You would wonder if he can know make the top team. Several younger players have passed him.He will not catch jennings or daniella. Makes him an interesting buy for the club

Players like O'Hallaron and Youngquest better not get ahead of the youngsters Jennings and Daniella. John Lang became obsessed with players who had experience and rarely blooded any young player. The only way these players are going to get experienced is by playing 1st Grade. I hope Elliott doesnt adopt the same way of selecting teams on Tuesday afternoons as Lang did.

All of the players in bold are linked to profiles with new pics. Some of the hair... OMG!

This is my fave... Shane Rodney:

Yeah, it's different....:? And what about Joels hair! I like his long hair but for Gods sake, that's a bit much...use a bit less product honey....;-)

Is it just me or could Matt Elliot and Wayne Collins be brothers??? They look a bit alike to me...and the third photo... :fist:

I think he might be there now. Also I might have seen him today in Myer in penrith plaza with I think Smokin Joe. Are they mates does anyone know?

Also saw Wrigley around the shops too.

It's funny you say that because today I saw Tony Puletua and Junior Moores walking around Myer at Castle Towers.

Looking at the top 25, it seems that the policy is to re-educate the 'wicked' lot from last year, and we all thought it was going to be in with the new!

For his next trick he will play them in the same positions as Lang did!
