Unfortunately I think our Club at the moment is incapable of making a brave decision. A clean out of our attitude and culture is needed before anything else and eventually that will lead to a new coach. Only then.
But it can only come from the very top. And our top shows little bravery, just a desire to hold onto the old boys from each of the old clubs. Until we accept that we need to look forward and not back, nothing will change. I see words like ‘tradition’ lying at the heart of our problem.

Some may say we have the smell of Newtown about us. I actually disagree with that. To me we are heading down the N.Z. Warriors path.
They too are steeped in "tradition".
They are always going to win the premiership with the squad they have.
Employ average to poor coaches, especially over the last 8yrs or so.
Always finish 7th, 8th, 9th 10th with an occasional visit to September football.
Have a team littered with Internationals and rep players.
Have increasing membership on same period last year.

Now compare the Dragons against the Warriors and see if there are any real differences.

Until we are mathematically out of it, I am sure we will make it :)

The only bit that frustrates me is when the effort drops off... if that happens I start to tune out.

Management better be looking at how to improve things.

Any statistical improvement in the second half of the season will be lauded and credited to McGregor's coaching prowess.
The smirk will be there even if we finish 9th, 1oth or 11th.
That's better than 13th right?
Too funny - we come last it’s Mary’s fault. We miraculously make the 8 Mary flukes it. I doubt we will make the 8 anyway, as the Players mentally looked drained. Widdop, JDB and injury toll was too much for them to handle.

I disagree that the top 8 is almost set.
There are still 14 teams that can make the finals. I don't think anyone other than the Storm, Rabbits, Roosters or Sharks could win it though.

Those 4 were my thoughts at the start of the season also.
For what it's worth and for laughing value (taking the piss out of me:D at seasons end), our work tipping comp. requires you to put forward your predicted finishing ladder before the first round (used to determine tipping comp. positions if points are tied) and this is what i came up with.

1. Roosters
2. Storm
3. Sharks
4. Souths
5. Raiders
6. Knights
7. Eels
8. Panthers
9. Broncos
10. Cowboys
11. Manly
12. Warriors
13. Dragons
14. Tigers
15. Dogs
16. Titans

Wow, you predicted the Dragons would finish bottom 4 before the season started? I thought we were a top 4 team. Sadly I was mistaken.

I'm just wondering when McGregor will be held accountable for his results.
Many clubs deal with and overcome injury and the loss of key players.
Two standouts are Cronulla and Melbourne.
They just get on with it.
We use those setbacks as excuses.
Aren't you tired of that?
In any case, whether we bounce back this year or not, McGregor has already been given a free pass for 2019.

I put that ladder in a couple of days before the season kicked off, so at that time, i already knew about the JDB saga which was always going to have a negative impact, I knew Widdop was going to play fullback with Dufty on the bench to rotate Hunt to hooker and McInnes to lock (dumbest freaking spine rotation in NRL history) , i knew Aitken was given the centre position over Lomax and that we had the slowest backline in the competition......add in the Mary factor (same shapes, same structures, same attacking options and same poor bench rotations as the previous 4 years because that's all he knows) and i just couldn't see how we could finish any higher.

I always hoped we would do better and i still think we might before the season is over, but we are not a top 8 side with the current roster (back 5 in particular) and coach in my opinion.

The board and Club are comfortably numb. 2019 held so much promise - but it’s just about dashed. Fan base is frustrated and venting on social media - but Club does not make any statements on that. We loose today ... it will get really ugly ...

I always want us to win and my 11 yr old son and I will have our SGI jumpers on in front of the TV tonight cheering them on.

In my opinion, win tonight and lose a couple in a row later on will deliver the same problems as if we lose tonight.

I've said it before, unfortunately nobody will get what they want in here.
Dragons will likely win enough to stay clear of the bottom but not enough to get near the top. So no satisfaction to be had at either end.

Just enough to keep the career coach in the job

NOW is time to prepare our squad for 2020. Forget about winning games, concentrate on preparing to clear out the deadwood and sign quality management and players.
Well we won today, so back to the drawing board.

It was a great game and we all were very happy with the win. However, I still would like to see a clear out of management and staff. Also happy if they keep winning, mind you, it was the Dogs who are very low on the ladder. Lets turn ourselves to next weeks game against Manly.

Negatively not allowed until mathematically impossible. Is there another forum out there with positive people who come out when we win. Go the Dragons.
