Could stay there if results go our way, could even end up 7th if the Storm beat the Wabbits well. I think 9th or 10th is more likely at the end of the round but we'll be 6th/7th equal on comp points. And we get a guaranteed 2 points next week :)

9th, if the Panthers beat the Sea Eagles. And they have the bye next week too

Just to underline the importance of winning close ones- if we'd lost this week and last week we'd be 15th now, and potentially dead last by the end of the round. Instead at worst we'll be just out of the 8 on +/-.

We're about where we deserve to be.
Beating those under us but not really looking to threaten the front runners.

I'm pretty happy with that considering injuries. If we hang in there until we get close to a full squad back we're looking alright.

Got to be honest, I am over the moon with where we are really?considering injuries. Vossy rightly pointed out last night that at the beginning of the season our 1-5 would have been Tomkins, Fusitua, Hurrell, Laumape, Vatuvei and we haven't had that all season. Last night we had none of them.

It's truly amazing how our replacement young guns did the job. Lisone, Vete, Maumalo

Also Lolohea has won me over. Really impressive how he sacrificed his body to save that try.

Good player with heart. Interesting to see where he plays next year with RTS at No.1 and that he's probably not ready to play 6. Sort of guy you want in the 17 somewhere.

We are still a bottom 8 side, we've just beaten two side who very well might be 15th and 16th.

Really?

Sharks bet the Roosters, Knights then Bunnies in that order, before losing to Penrith away then housing us at home. They notched up another victory last night (against the Tits mind you).

We bet the Eels at home night without all of our top backline and minus about 140 minutes of 2 our most experienced players.

I don't think you can scoff at either of those scalps.

Yeah you're right, the Sharks was meritorious enough.

I'm actually probably being a bit harsh on us, given we are 2 games off equal top, just won back to back in Sydney (all us long-time fans know that is nothing to take for granted), pushed the Cows in NQ etc with major backline injuries and Hoffman/2-man interchange on Saturday.

I'd just want to see a big scalp, which we haven't had under Cappy since his third game (Melbourne).

Lolohea will play 6 next year, barring some miracle happening and us picking up a good half (or keeping Townsend). If Robert Lui wasn't a wife-beater I'd look at him... as it is though, no dickheads. Anyway back on Lolohea, it's too early to be looking at next season for him- we're still very much in THIS season so he plays wherever needed most on a week to week basis.. if we get to the point where we are effectively out of the running then we can sit Chad down and use Lolo in the 6.

I'm really not sure where we stand in terms of top/bottom 8. It's hard to tell with so many good players out for so many games - but if I had to guess I'd say we're part of the few fringe finals teams... going into the Origin period with a 5-5 record is a good sign, same with Tomkins returning. Right now I'd probably group the teams as finals certainties (Storm, Dragons, Cowboys, Roosters, Souths & Broncos), fringe finals teams (Bulldogs, Manly, Warriors, Panthers & maybe Raiders) and probable bottom half teams (Tigers, Sharks, Titans, Knights & Eels)- hence why it's so hard to tell where we stand exactly.. we haven't played many teams in that middle group.
