Penrith only win by 1, so we stay in the 8.

That reminds me of something. With for and against potentially so important in a tight competition especially in the fringe of the eight, why didn't we take a conversion after the golden try? Or isn't that an option?

Isn't an option. Golden point is stupid, just have 10 mins of extra time if they wanna not have draws.

I like draws - pretty rugged on whoever loses tbh

Agree - at the moment it comes down to who has the best drop kicker, not who has the most stamina, used their interchange wisely etc. Even our try was an after thought to SJ not being able to get a look at field goal.

I know it produces a result but it also produces the same thing every time.

Our golden point record must be pretty strong though? I can hardly remember us losing any.

I agree. Nothing wrong with a draw. It usually is the result of a tight tussle. With extra time the NRL are not factoring in the welfare of the players.

We haven't lost any Golden Point games since 2006.

Warriors in Golden Point - played 9, won 3, drawn 3, lost 3.

Rd 16 2003: 31-30 vs Rabbitohs (A)
Rd 15 2004: 26-28 vs Cowboys (H)
Rd 20 2004: 29-30 vs Raiders (A)
Rd 18 2006: 18-22 vs Bulldogs (A)
Rd 21 2007: 31-31 vs Roosters (A)
Rd 6 2009: 17-16 vs Roosters (H)
Rd 7 2009: 14-14 vs Storm (A)
Rd 21 2009: 32-32 vs Panthers (A)
Rd 10 2015: 17-13 vs Eels (A)

Regardless of whether it's strong or not, I really don't get the need to have a result in the regular season - of course, I think a draw is a result.

In knockout games, rather than golden pt, I'd suggest 10 min each way - let them play footy, rather than position themselves for a field goal

Golden point also sees competition points go up by 2s, meaning often a log jam of sides at eighth and who goes to the finals decided by bullocks for and against points. Which is just lame. Draws for 1pt each would give a much better spread of team positions based on win-loss-draw rather than points differential. For and against is way too important in NRL ladder because of golden myth.

2011.

After Round 11 - played 11, won 7, lost 4

After Round 21 - played 19, won 11, lost 8

Good work LN, I was thinking 2011, but wasn't sure and needed someone to trawl the stats... shows how average we have been since that year...

Been to three of those, Rabbits 03, Bulldogs 04 and the Eels one. Two wins and a loss isn't too bad. I'm surprised at our record, I always thought we had a horrible golden point record to be honest - I guess it was still a negative one until this last game, and the three losses all came in a row and must be etched into my memory.
