well said.

It all has to do with taste.

That song echoes was used in a old George Greenough movie called "Crystal Voyager".
George is a real ocean man, in the movie he builds a boat "the crystal voyager" so he can go and surf secluded places.
He rode an old transparent spoon kneeboard and an airmat.
Echoes in full is the last 20 or so mins of the movie where George took footage from the perspective of the surfer in the tube.
The footage is all in slow-mo and suits the music beautifully.

The rest of the soundtrack is pretty cool in an old hippy kind of way.

Watched a digitally remastered crystal voyager dvd recently. It has additional bits including George at home in Broken Head talking about his garden and a captain goodvibes cartoon.

Yeah I have it..
Hows George's hairdo these days?

My mother in law is mates ( thru work ) with Jack Mc Coy ( surf movie maker ) and I get all his new DVD's off him.

I sent him a thankyou email and we got talking about George.
He is mates with George and reckons he still cuts his own hair with garden shears.

He still rides his airmat out at broken head....and Ive heard he rips on it.

His hairdo has not changed for about 30 odd years. The original bowl cut. I used to have a lot of photos of greenough. One showed him doing an unbelievable bottom turn. You could see his knees through the deck of his board.

I saw innermost limmits of pure fun when it first showed in sydney at the enmore theatre. George even did the projection work.

You a kneelo?

These days mals. I knew a lot of the old cronulla point boys which included a lot of kneeboarders. I started on paipos which was a piece of plywood.

Greenough, as you know, was very influential in early surfboard design and of course surf films.

The only guy I knew who mastered the 'spoon', other than George, was a guy called Mick Guinea, from Caringbah. Would not have a clue what became of him.

It's from George Greenough.

You'll see form the above link how he strapped an old camera to his back to get the shot.

As I mentioned, it is from a movie called the Crystal Voyager.
Its been re-released on DVD .

Small world.......I surf at Garie all the time.

This is a pic I took from the top of the hill while the carpark was getting done.

Is that the Southern end of the main beach. Looks good. Still liked that carpark the way it used to be when you could park facing the surf...

The walk around to Eaura is usually worth it.....Used to have mates in the old Garie Boardriders and we'd stay in the old clubhouse at night as they had the keys. Get a bonfire on the beach goin and get on the piss, then surf at first light and most of the day. Was about 20 years ago, but had some good times down there.

Thanks for the pic anyway mate....

Get yourself the "Live in Pompei" DVD. Apart from the awesome music and surroundings, the interview bits with the band members is also superb.
