He would be immensely expensive, but a stand-out buy for sure.

not sure, I dont know what the fuss is about with this kid although I've only seen him a few times

from what I am hearing deals are close and will be done early in the window (although we hear that every year)

for some reason Levy likes Erikssen and we have gone back for Mourtinho and must be very close as we are loaning Livermore out so we must have at least one midfielder coming in and we really are short in mids although we have Dembele, when he was injured we had to use Huddlestone and he has just not come along as we expected so he could be gone in the summer

so the fact that we maybe loaning out Livermore means we must have 2 coming in I'd say, possibly Mourts and Erikssen if you listen to the rumours

nothing solid yet but we still got Modrics money to spend as we didn't spend it in the summer

Hmm, I'm not so sure, I see Dembele as more of a classic CM and like him paired with Sandro. He holds the ball so well, no one can get the ball off him - and often picks out the right balls to our wingers. Not sure how he is defensively I haven't seen enough of him for a full judgment but from what I've seen he looks good.

Dempsey can at least be a stop gap solution until we sign someone, he is improving with every game.

I agree about Dempsey, he is our biggest weekness atm, I prefer Siggy over Dempsey

I think at the moment Dempsey has more of a goal scoring/last ball touch. But sig will get there eventually. They're both good players to have in the squad anyway

I reckon Dempsey will be a permanent benchie from January onwards, his spot is our No 1 priority and VDV was a huge loss

You reckon? I wasn't a fan of vdv, he was injured half the time and looked disinterested and lazy for another 25%. Only ever seemed to do anything when crouch was heading the ball down to him and didn't fit our style of play.

Sig will be better eventually but Dempsey is the best we got at the moment.

Transfer rumour? I saw AVB say we probably won't be buying or selling anyone, though I think that he's lying as we were a few minutes away from buying Moutinho earlier. You would think if we have that money we would spend it to strengthen the team for the second half of the season. We really need to qualify for the UCL.
Ah, just looked at your earlier post. If we still have the Modric money to spend and are loaning out Livermore, we must be bringing in a midfielder or two. Hopefully it is Moutinho, Eriksen would be a bonus though I think that would crowd us up front a bit. It would at least stop us playing our only two strikers in each game at least! I am guessing we will only get one of those two (if we get either of them at all), unless we also lose out on Huddlestone. I think cover for Walker and Assou Ekotto is more important, as well as another striker.

If we are hard-out trying to replace VDV then Eriksen is the logical choice. However, if we also got Moutinho our midfield would be very crowded. Full-strength would probably be Moutinho, Dembele and Eriksen, with Sandro/Sigurdsson/Huddlestone/etc on the bench. Selection headaches, Dembele is an auto-include, I think Moutinho is a better player at this time than Sandro, though I can't say if he would fill the defensive role as well, and Eriksen would probably make it over Dempsey/Sigurdsson.

Frankly though, given the players we have lost and our injury toll, I would be happy with 5th even. We are playing a lot better than we should be. With Parker returning, Dembele and Bale now fit, Assou Ekotto about to return, and I am guessing Kaboul not too far off, things are looking on the up.

Sunderland away in two days. That will be tough. Granted, our away form is what has really helped us this season. Traveling to two clubs in two days would be hard on fitness, though it does look like our players are fitter than ever. Kind of a wait and see game I guess, another win would be fantastic, a draw would be more than acceptable though. I've learned not to expect anything - especially against a team that just beat ManCity.

Exciting times, I guess all we can do is get our hands dirty and do our best.

dont think Eriksen will happen and if you've seen the latest rumours about Sneijder (which is what I was referring to) as soon as we were linked with him Porto began to be more flexible as Mourts is supposedly doing a Modric and told them he wants to leave

so looks like we are working towards JM and if we want anyone else we need to sell and AVB says we can sell Ade, Parker and Livermore if we need cash as they aint in his future plans. AVB and Ade dont get along very well apparently.

Yeah I checked SC and saw the Sneijder rumours, he would definitely be a much better fit for us in the VDV role.
