Getting more pessamistic by the minute... Wouldn't be too excited to sign rossi I don't think but better than no one I guess.

I think I actually feel sorry for Newcastle supporters at the moment, why the hell would they let their best player leave?

I'd rather Torrres and than Carroll

the latest (if you choose to believe it) all rumours of course

Forlan done

still trying for Rossi

hopefull of getting one of either Diarra or Anelka,

we could spend well over 50mill

oh, and still trying for Neville, not sure why

looks like nothing according to harry who is on SSN live atm

signed Charlie Adam 2 minutes after the dead line so it wont count, he was supposed to be cover for Hudd who is now out for the season

we let Bentley, Keane, O'Hara and Gio go and got Pinaarr and Khumulo in, we may now be able to add Woody to our list as he has been playing in the twos for a few weeks and that may give us cover for Kaboul who is having surgery

Doesn't look like King will ever play again and Daws is suspended, looks like we could be short of squad players for the rest of the season.

reading a few post mortems, we apparently had about 3 deals agreed to and the players wouldn't come

we only offered 70K in wages, 35K of which goes on tax, yet in Spain they pay jacksh*t, no wonder they wouldn't come

Had a deal agreed by Villareal with Rossi and they renigged with a few hours to go

Not looking good at the moment. Injuries and suspensions all at the worst possible time, and still no striker signing. Very unfortunate. Still, it is no excuse if we aren't 5th or higher at the end of the season.

Yeah Spanish players will always be tough with that tax. Don't sports players pay no tax there or something?

Well we reached the Champions League last year, and we've really lost no one, so I guess we're not in THAT bad a position. Still got Champions League to look forward to.

Just need a few injured players to come back etc. Thing is next summer we most likely won't have the whole 'playing Champions League' line to lure players to us.

we do have the same squad but other teams like Chelski, Citeh and scousers have strengthened theirs.

we've probably got the easiest run home which about the only thing in our favour, we've already played ManU twice, Citeh and Goons away and Chelski at home. Chelski away will be our toughest game and they have to play ManU twice yet.

will probably go down to the wire like last year

After all the big names associated to end up with nothing? Ouch.

big ouch

I'm not sure why if we have so much cash to splash that we dont put some aside for wages as that is clearly what our problem is

I remember last summer transfer window, harry wanted Joe Cole and he wanted Spurs, deal almost done, we offered him 55K a week and scousers offered him 90K, deal undone

in hindsight we dodged a bullet but you'd think we would have learned from that

I cant see Llorente, Aguero et al agreeing to 70K a week less 50% tax when they get almost double that where they are and pay no tax at all
