Just saw the replay, looked a legitimate attempt on the ball for mine. Not only an attempt, he actually got hands on it before the striker touched him. Unlucky.

Well everybody, we've come to that day in the year which shows the true balance of power in the north of London. It happens almost every season and today we have reached the mark.

Yes, today, the 21st of April 2007 marks the day that it is mathematically impossible for T*tt*nh*m to finish above Arsenal on the ladder.

Get it up ya T*tt*nh*m.

Yes my friends, it's time to celebrate!

Happy St. T*tts Day all!!!!!!!!!!

Groundsman wins top award
Darren Baldwin has been voted Premiership groundsman of the year for the pitch he has worked on at White Hart Lane.

Tottenham's grounds manager pipped representatives from Middlesbrough and Arsenal to the award after being shortlisted in the past two seasons. "It's recognition of having the top playing surface in the division and all the hard work put in this season to make that possible, especially as we've played 12 games more than we did last year," said Baldwin, who will be presented with a £1,000 cheque.
Baldwin claims Jose Mourinho and Arsene Wenger are among the managers who have asked him for his trade secrets, but he added: "There are secrets, which I won't give away."

Berbatov gets the better of Boro
Dimitar Berbatov starred as Tottenham maintained their push for an automatic UEFA Cup qualifying place with a 3-2 win away to Middlesbrough.
The brilliant Bulgarian fired home a sensational 47th-minute volley and set up the first of strike partner Robbie Keane's double as Martin Jol's men produced a performance oozing class.
Only a late rally from Boro kept them in with a shout, with Mark Viduka briefly narrowing the deficit and Emanuel Pogatetz shredding Spurs nerves with an 89th-minute consolation.
But anything other than three points would have been especially harsh on the visitors, who were a cut above throughout a windy afternoon at the Riverside Stadium.
Berbatov proved a handful for a Boro rearguard featuring their new permanent signing Jonathan Woodgate from the start as Spurs grabbed the initiative.
Woodgate agreed a new four-year deal with Boro in midweek but will hope to avoid opponents of the likes of Berbatov, as the Bulgarian stretched him to the limit.
Berbatov twisted past Lee Cattermole to fire a low effort which almost deceived Mark Schwarzer then flashed another effort just past the goalkeeper's right-hand post.
It was almost a one-man show as Berbatov was at the centre of every early move and it was entirely predictable that he should be heavily involved in the visitors' opener.
Berbatov squeezed past Pogatetz in the left side of the Boro box before knocking the ball across to Keane, who slid home his 20th goal of the season.
Boro, reliant as ever on Stewart Downing's wing play in the early stages, fashioned their first real chance just before the half-hour when George Boateng's drive was deflected narrowly wide.
But they could do little with their increased possession and Cattermole risked the ire of the frustrated home fans when he blazed a 34th-minute cross high and wide of target.
It was back to Berbatov, who launched another swift counter-attack which ended in a low cross towards Keane, who missed the ball in front of goal by inches.
Boro came close to a barely-deserved equaliser in the 43rd minute when Viduka turned in a crowded box and struck a low shot inches wide of target.
But any hope the home side had of pressing at the start of the second half were undone by a moment of pure brilliance by Berbatov in the 47th minute.
Hossam Ghaly found space down the right flank and timed his cross to perfection, dropping it onto the right boot of Berbatov who volleyed past a helpless Schwarzer from 25 yards.
Spurs came agonisingly close to a third in the 56th minute when Steed Malbranque sent Keane clean through, but the Irishman knocked his shot inches wide under pressure from Schwarzer.
Incredibly, the visitors were almost made to pay for their miss as the home side roused themselves for a final flurry, beginning with Viduka's shot over the crossbar in the 63rd minute.
The Australian headed home Downing's cross in the 66th minute and almost put Boro level within a minute with a point-blank effort which was brilliantly saved by Paul Robinson.
But the visitors were not to be denied and struck back to effectively seal the points when sub Aaron Lennon cut the ball back from the goal-line and Keane powered the ball past Schwarzer. Pogatetz pulled a further goal back for Boro but Spurs got the points they deserved.

Yes Berbatov is a freak check out his 2nd goal and the build up to the 3rd is awesome, Robinson some quality saves to might I add

Addicks down after Valley defeat

Dimitar Berbatov and Jermain Defoe grabbed the goals to relegate Charlton as Tottenham came away from The Valley with a 2-0 victory.
The Addicks needed to win to keep alive their slim hopes of avoiding the drop but were undone by Berbatov's brilliant early strike and Defoe's late clincher, as Spurs move up to sixth.

The visitors started brightly and took the lead in the seventh minute when Berbatov latched onto Ledley King's long punt forward before flicking the ball around Talal El Karkouri on the halfway line and racing through on goal to beat Scott Carson.
Teemu Tainio then fired straight at Carson from 20 yards as Spurs continued to dominate, while at the other end Charlton's first effort on goal saw El Karkouri's flick from a Darren Ambrose free-kick go straight to Paul Robinson.
Alan Pardew's men missed a good opportunity to draw level in the 37th minute when Darren Bent broke clear down the right and crossed for Alexandre Song but the on-loan Arsenal midfielder headed well wide from 12 yards.
Darren Bent then blazed wide from the edge of the area after breaking clear of the Tottenham defence as the home side finished the half the stronger of the two sides.
Spurs came out of the traps quickly again at the start of the second period, with Berbatov forcing Carson to push away a 25-yard thunderbolt.
Charlton's desperation was becoming more evident and although they forced a number of corners in quick succession they failed to really trouble Robinson.
The visitors were still looking dangerous on the break though, with substitute Steed Malbranque scooping an effort over the bar.
King was fortunate not to deflect a Lloyd Sam cross into his own net as the Addicks pushed more bodies forward in search of the two goals they needed to avoid the drop.
But the game was up for Charlton in the 90th minute when Berbatov played in Defoe and the England striker beat Carson from 25 yards, although his effort took a slight deflection off the unfortunate El Karkouri.

5th looks likely again
