Good use of the 6-2-1 formation after Zokora was sent off.
Burns that Malbonk was still on the field to score that winner.

pretty good lone goal I thought

I cant believe how our defence has improved and we now actually have a mid field in JJ and the Prince.

Robbie Keane back this weekend against the Gooners, it just keeps getting better

Yes, I know it's Steed Malbranque. He was looking close to coming to City at one point where he couldn't get a game for Fulham. Has been inspired since his move to Spurs.

Care to comment on the yellow and red cards Twiz?
Malbranqu honestly could have broken a leg with that challenge. Well worth a red. However, Zokora barely touched Elano with a high leg and got sent. And Richard Dunne should have got a penalty after being taken out by Chimbonda.

That ref was f**ked. Couldn't get his cards right and his decision making was all over the shop. Was so biased against Tottenham in the first half, bu we couldn't get a free in the second.

A cup final would have been fantastic, but we've got bigger fish to fry.

I agree he was lucky not to be sent off, but hey, we did it with 10 players

I agree on the ref, he was pathetic. Zokora had both his legs off the ground at the time of contact, so technically it may have been the right decision.

I thought it was a bit petty.

Spurs set to snap up young Bluebird

Cardiff have revealed they have agreed a fee with Tottenham for promising young Welsh international defender Chris Gunter.
The 18-year-old has already attracted the attentions of Wales boss John Toshack and became the youngest ever Bluebirds player to win a full international cap for Wales.
And, after receiving several bids from Tottenham, Cardiff revealed they had received an offer which had "reached their valuation" of the player.
Gunter made his debut for Cardiff at the age of 17 against Barnet in 2006 and has since gone on to become a regular in Dave Jones' side - making 13 appearances so far this term.
The Bluebirds board had previously turned down two offers from Everton in the summer but chairman Peter Ridsdale admitted the latest offer from Spurs was too good for both parties to turn down.
"In our situation as a Championship football club, we have to consider anything of this magnitude," Ridsdale told the BBC.
"Chris has indicated he wants to talk to them and we have given permission.
"I think with the price itself we would have had to consider it no matter what the situation was financially."
Cardiff are currently involved in a legal battle with creditors Langston - a situation that has threatened the club with administration and financial ruin and Ridsdale admitted that it was a contributing factor in agreeing to the sale.
"Clearly, given the challenge we've had with Langston, it's made the financial security of the club more acute that we do look at this sort of transfer.
"But, if Chris had said he wasn't interested in going, we wouldn't have sold him."

Ramos out to end Arsenal hoodoo

Juande Ramos hopes to succeed where other Tottenham bosses have failed as he looks to mastermind a first win over rivals Arsenal this century.

Spurs have not beaten their neighbours since the days of David Ginola in 1999 - and the manager back then was Gunners legend George Graham.
Former boss Martin Jol was accused of failing against top-four teams and the new head coach gets a chance at the Emirates Stadium at lunchtime on Saturday to prove that his side do not wilt against bigger clubs.
Since taking over from Jol, Ramos has beaten fourth-placed Manchester City twice but their recent record against the traditional heavyweights is woeful.
"I don't think it is a psychological issue against Arsenal at all," said Ramos.
Ramos' reign is 11 games old and he has only suffered defeat once, but the Spaniard feels his side cannot be judged at the moment due to the injuries at White Hart Lane.
He also has Didier Zokora suspended for his red card at Eastlands on Tuesday, while Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger was able to name a shadow squad against Blackburn on the same night.
"Arsenal have a huge squad, we're playing with the same players in all competitions because we have injury problems," Ramos said.
"We're not going into this in normal conditions. We had a game on Tuesday and people are injured and suspended.
"Arsenal played during the week without their usual players and this week they will play with their strongest side."
To make his task even harder, Wenger's side are top of the Barclays Premier League and unbeaten at the Emirates Stadium this season. They have only lost one league game at home since moving from Highbury.
"They are one of the teams playing the best football at the moment, very attractive to watch and effective, as they are the leaders at the moment," said Ramos.
"We're playing very effectively at the moment in terms of getting results. We're playing more positively now and we're improving all the time.
"There is a big difference in the league table but we are not as far behind as we were before. We're now in mid-table and little by little we'll close the gap, simply because we are getting results.
"In the last few games we've shown we are getting to grips with how we should be playing. The players are starting to understand the style of play we want here."
Ramos knows ending Spurs' dismal run would endear him even further to fans, and he is no stranger to hostile derby atmospheres after he was hit by a bottle during Sevilla's clash against Real Betis earlier this year.
As well as inspiring a turn in results since moving from Sevilla to Spurs, the Spaniard's impact at White Hart Lane has been huge, according to midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng.
"We are a lot more together now," said the 20-year-old German midfielder.
"We are one big family. It was like that before, but we feel that everyone has to help each other now. Everyone is happy and that is why we win now.
"Juande is a special manager because from the outset everyone knew that he had won the UEFA Cup two times. That means he knows what he is doing.
"He respects every player, even if he is in the reserves or the youth team. Everyone can see this.
"It doesn't matter if it is the biggest name like Dimitar Berbatov or a youth player, the one who plays the best on the training pitch will play. The training is different. I feel fitter than ever, more than I ever was at Hertha Berlin."
Boateng has started the last two games and is desperate to prove himself against Arsenal.
"All everyone talks about is Arsenal's young players, but we have some great talent here, too," he said. "We have young players playing good games, just look at Jamie O'Hara who has come on in the last two games.
"In Germany I didn't realise how big the rivalry was, but since I came here I have learned how unbelievable it is."
Meanwhile, Spurs were drawn against Slavia Prague in the last 32 of the UEFA Cup. They travel to the Czech Republic in February for the first leg.

Wenger wary of Berbatov threat

Arsene Wenger reckons Arsenal must contain Dimitar Berbatov on Saturday if they are to continue their mastery of north London rivals Tottenham.

Spurs have won their last three matches and Wenger believes the improving form of Berbatov has underpinned the club's resurgence.
On Friday, the Bulgaria striker was the subject of a hands-off warning from Tottenham, who are anxious to block interest in their prized asset from Manchester United.
Wenger holds Berbatov in high regard and believes shackling him at the Emirates Stadium in the Saturday lunchtime Premier League clash will ensure Juande Ramos' first north London derby ends in defeat.
"It seems, especially in the last two or three games, that when Berbatov plays well, so do Tottenham," said the Gunners boss.
"The quality of Tottenham's performances recently can be linked with the gain in form of Berbatov.
"His intelligence, his technique and the quality of his movement have impressed me. He is one of the Premier League's better strikers.
"I've known him from a long time, from his time at Bayer Leverkusen.
"But I did not try to sign him because we had Thierry Henry, (Emmanuel) Adebayor and young strikers who are coming in now.
Arsenal have endured just one defeat to Spurs since Wenger's reign began in 1996 and are heavy favourites to continue their dominance of the fixture tomorrow.
But Wenger has a healthy respect for Ramos, who has endured a solitary defeat since replacing Martin Jol 11 matches ago, and claims the Spaniard's influence is already apparent at White Hart Lane.
"We like to play football and Tottenham are a team that want to play as well," Wenger said.
"I have no suspicion that it will be a bad-tempered match.
"Tottenham are a side who are at their best when they play football. They're not at their best when they're being aggressive.
"They're playing with confidence - playing good football is linked with confidence.
"The new manager coming in has released the pressure on the players. They've had a few good results and that helps.
"I think Ramos can achieve something at Tottenham. He has the experience and plenty of resources.
"He has the chance to do it because Tottenham already had a good team before he came - they have finished fifth for the last two seasons.
"Martin Jol paid the price for a bad start to the season, but if you finish fifth in the Premier League for two years then you have a good team."
Arsenal were paired with holders AC Milan in Friday's draw for the last 16 of the Champions League and Wenger accepts the Italian giants are a formidable challenge.
But they are struggling in mid-table of Serie A and Wenger believes discovering the secret of their transformation when they play in Europe will enable him to plot their downfall.
"What is interesting about AC Milan is the way they can be average in the domestic championship yet raise their game for occasions," Wenger said.
"That's something that is really surprising. They look invincible in Europe but beatable in Italy.
"We must analyse what gets them there for the special occasion.
"On paper, it's the hardest draw we could have had, but I don't think there's a lot of difference between Inter and AC Milan because Inter are dominant in the championship.
"They play each other on Sunday and that will be a good opportunity to look at them."
