unfortunately for me the ones that run from the Gold Coast to Parramatta, aren't as reliable.

IMPORTANT REMINDER:

Daylight Savings starts tomorrow night, so remember to set your clocks forward an hour before you go to bed or else you will turn up at 9:30 and cost your team dearly!

Matchs Report and Results

Well the tournament was held today at Richie Benaud Oval at North Parramatta. The weather was hot and fine.

There were teams made up of supporters from the Parramatta Eels, the Wests Tigers, the Penrith Panthers, the Canberra Raiders, the St.George Illawarra Dragons and of course the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks.

Each team were to play each other once, with the leading team going straight into the Grand Final and 2nd and 3rd in a play off to play in the Grand Final.

Our 1st game was against the Canberra Raiders, having not played together for sometime we were a little rusty to say the least, and ended up getting beaten 5 - 1.

Game 2 was against the Eels, which we played consistently in, and ended up winning 3 - 2.

Game 3 was against the Dragons, this was the game that we wanted to win. We started off again very rusty, and the game looked like it was going the wrong way. We were down 3 - 0 at one stage, before the team re-grouped and showed some real form and fought back to take the game 4-3, beating the Dragons and ruining there celebrations.

Mission 1 accomplished, beating the Dragon Scum.

This put us into third spot on the ladder, we needed to play well in our next game and win if possible or keep the opposition to a very low score, in order to stay in 3rd position.

Game 4 was against the Panthers, one of the top 2 sides in the competition. We played really well in defense and attack and kept them to a low score. We ended up losing that match by 2 - 1, but it was still a great result.

In order to stay in 3rd spot we had to make sure that we won game 5 by a few points, as the Dragons were behind us by 2 points on the ladder and we wanted to make the finals and knock them out.

Game 5 was against the Wests Tigers, we started the game on fire and it continued on throughout the entire match, there were numerous amazing tries scored, we had found our form and held on to it, eventually winning the game 10 - 1.

We had made the finals, and made sure that the Dragons were knocked out.

Mission 2 accomplished, good bye Dragon Scum.

Our Semi-Final match was against the Raiders team as they had finished in 2nd position, this game we knew would be hard.

We started the game well, with good defence and attack, with both teams playing well, and keeping eachother on their toes.

The raiders were in front, but we managed to fight our way back and at Full-Time the game was tied at 2 - 2. We weren't going to let this game get away that easy.

The game entered Sudden Death Golden Point extra time, both teams had a few oppurtunites to score, with the Raiders managaing to just get around our defense and scoring well into extra time, winning the game 3 - 2.

Our day was over, but we had achieved more then what we thought we would.

Did i mention we beat the Dragon Scum and knocked them out before the finals ???

This was the Sharks first appearance at this anuall tournament, but it will not be the last.

Well done to all the team for such an outstanding effort on such a great day.

Thanks Thommo, Frenzy and jordo_sharks for your kind words.

Special thanks also to Hollywood Jesus who organised the whole day, not to benefit himself, but to benefit all fans of the NRL.

Great idea, great day and a great bunch of people to meet.

Will see you guys next time for sure.

We're taking the trophy next time lads.

I'll be honest I've pulled up quite stiff, espically my groin which I did against the scum completing that dive.
