The Beautiful Ambitions Of TOX111

The Decision Of The Rfl Has Just Been Given To Us. Toulouse Olympic Xiii, In Spite Of A Sturdy And Professional Submission, Despite The Support And The Engagement Of The Local Support Groups, The Conseil Régional, The Conseil Général And The Mayor, Despite The Lobbying And The Participation Of The Tourist Office Of Toulouse, Despite The Financial Support Of The Partners And The Work And Effort Made By The Managers And Administrators Of The Club We Have Not Succeeded In Convincing Our English Friends Of The Interest In Opening Up This Beacon Rugby League Competition To A Second French Club. The Same Choice Has Been Laid To Bare On The Welsh Franchise And This Decision Marks A Return To The Historic English Clubs [sic Sic Sic Sic & Sic!!!!!]. We Wish Our More Fortunate Competitors The Best Of Luck In Their Enterprise And We Hope That This Choice Does Not Hold Back The Development That Super League Has Known Since Its Growth To 12 Teams With The Integration Of The London Broncos (today Known As The Harlequins) And The Catalan Dragons.

Despite Our Current Ligitimite Deception, We Have To Underline The Positive Elements Generated By Our Work On The Super League Project.

Firstly, After Avoiding The Grave Crisis 2 Years Ago, The Club Has Found Itself Once More In A More Healthy Financial Position. The Submission That We Presented Is A Base Of Work With Some Objectives To Furfil In The Next 3 Years That We Have Started, Without Waiting For The Decision Of The Rfl, To Deploy.

Concerning The Sporting Side Of Things, We Now Have The Go Ahead From The Minister For The Finalisation Of The Center Of Formation Project. With The Engagement Of Gilles Dumas, Manager Of The French National Team, As The New Coach Of The First Grade Team For Toulouse, He Promises A Fresh Style Of Play And To Take The Rejuvinated And Reinforced Club To New Titles. The Hiring Of Didier Paludetto As The Director Of Sport Will Ease The Implementation Of A Style Of Play Shared Amonst All The Teams Of The School Of Rugby Right Up To The First Grade Team, Supervise The Functionning Of The Centre Of Formation And Reinforce The Development And The Efforts Of The Club In Schools And High Schools Of The City. At Last, The Recrutement Of A Full-time Physical Trainer Will Allow The Players In The Elite Team And Juniors To Play To The Best Of Their Ability. Finally, We Need To Continue To Consolidate And Develop The School Of Rugby Whilst Giving Them The Means To Shape Their Future Occupants Of The Center Of Formation And Of The Flagship Team, And Also To Hoist High The Colours Of Tolouse Olympic.

What We Have Started To Build On The Field, We Also Need To Follow Up With In The Administrative And Financial Domains. The Finance Commision Has Done An Enormous Amount Of Work During The Entire Last Season And Will Follow Up Their Efforts In 2009 With Yet More In Order To Finalise The Managerial Procedures With The Aid Of Staff And Volonteers Of The Association Along With Some Payed Workers Of Sasp. The Paths For Improvement Are Well Known And Even If We Don't Have The Same Means We Can Nevertheless Finalise The Setup Of Our It Systems Which We Need To Raise Our Professionalism And Assure Easier Management Of Our Activities.

In The Marketing And Communication Sectors, We Need To Consolidate The Work Done Throughout 2008 (website, Partners, "oval Table" Business Club) And Launch Some Projects To Increase Our Cash Flow. This Will Happen Via The Increase Of The Supporter Base, Crowds, The Promotion Of Games, Season Ticket Campaigns And The Development Of Mechandising With The Streamlining Of The Club Shop, The Signing Of A New Supplier Of Gear And The Launch Of An Online Shop.

Lastly, We Need To Quickly Take A New Look At Our Workplace - The Minimes Stadium. Even If We Can't Feed The Same Ambitions As The Next 3 Seasons To Come, We Already Have The Will To Augment The Crowds Which Frequent Our Stadium. We Aim To Do This Via The Renovation And The Augmentation Of The Capacity Of The Current Infrastructure To Permit A Better Welcome To Our Business Partners And Spectators. We Also Have To Prepare Ourselves To Participate In 2011 In The New Round Of Offers That The Rfl Wil Make This Time We Must Be Ready. The Renovation Project And Enlargement Of The Stadium Will Be One Of The Pilot Projects Of The Club As Early As The End Of This Summer. At The Same Time We Need To Launch The Creation Of Sas Toulouse 13 In Order To Sure Up The Finances Needed To Pay For The Installation Of A Gym, Some Modern Stands And Some More Modern Systems For The Ticket Windows And The Sale Of Delivered Products.

It Is Now Necessary To Rapidly Bounce Back... And Return To The Top Flight Here In France, Finishing To Put In Place A Professional Structure And Finish Off All Of These Projects - The Fondations Of Our Future Successes. In Order To Get There We Are Counting On Your Support And Your Engagement. Together We Will Win The Next Match In 2011!

Thank you Miguel... that's a lot better than my attempted version.

Reads like they are staying positive, and have been given a clear idea of what was lacking and what they have to do to get into 2012...

No worries. Sorry I stole your thunder - didn't see you toiling away there. I wonder how long it will be until they work out Celtic actually got in :)

That bit is weird... like it was written thinking that Celtic had also missed out?

The mind boggles...

* Cheers again Miguel, I've cleaned up a few things (including their bit about Crusaders, to save them) and loaded it as an item on LU's website, with a plug for the international forums here *

They'll get there for 2012, nothing surer I reckon...

Question is will super league expand again, or will some of the exisiting clubs step out to National League?

I think it will expand to 16 IF the existing 14 are travelling well, IF Sky up the TV money and IF their are 2 teams that will add to it. Widnes, Leigh, Doncaster (possibly with a merger with the Sheffield Eagles to form a South Yorkshire Eagles playing out of Doncasters new stadium) and Toulouse would probably be the most likely at this far away stage.

This is clearly a numb brained decision but they where never a chance with the amount of negative media a few point
*the amount of toulouse bagging was appauling the bloke who had his name made at toulouse morgan, then eric asleme, rob purdam, british journos but make this comparison the crowd toulouse got for there test vs the english what would brigiend get for a similar match ?.
*This simply means france will not be a regular competitor vs the big three lewis and co are happy to have two semi competitive nations in wales & france get regularly slaughtered by england in a mid season test.
*What does this mean for the quad series?
*Are they getting a nl1 spot this would mean a spot if they perform they would be certain of a 2012 spot and players outside catalans who could be up to test matches.
*Does the murrayfield magic mean scotland will be fast tracked next time round?
*Will next time round a combined aude team(lezignan, limoux & cassonne) or as has been rumoured the stade france boss in interested in a interview last year in the kiwi test in paris last year interested in superleague spot.
*Ireland are a much better shot than scotland but it seems like there will be fastracked like celtic.

Wasn't in the country to notice the Toulouse bagging...

But it's clear from their statement that they have a number of areas to address before they would have been Super League standard, maybe even National League One standard as a club in its operations. I'd rather Toulouse have the time to address these and be in a better position to make a go of it when they come in, that rush them in and have it flop. The game can't afford a French flop.

I'm pretty confident Toulouse will use this to become virtual certainities in 2012, if they keep the fire alive.

I reckon Widnes have to be a big chance for next time... either in place of a club that drops down, or if they decide to merge Wakey/Cas/Fev or something?

Any expansion/development will obviously favour France and maybe Scotland, but there'll be a reshuffle among current teams in three years time, I'm imagine... Anyway, drink it up, VS.

The offer is now there for a French team, to be nominated by the French federation by September, for inclusion in next years National Leagues.

I would suspect that the federation would back Toulouse, and Toulouse woulod be interested, to further tehir aims for Superleague? It's the right way to go about it, instead of directly to Toulouse. Let their fellow clubs and current league decide fairly and jointly, get behind it instead of divisive about it, and that type of thing.

The word on the street was Toulouse didn't have a lot of substance to back up the talk. I wanted them in but I accept the decision based on the market research from the RFL which suggested a greater demand for Super League in Wales.

They've been invited to play in NL1. They need to take up the invite to prove they are a viable entity for Sl in 3 years time imo.
