Up-and-coming winger Daniel Tupou has signed a contract extension with Sydney Roosters until the end of the 2015 NRL season.
Considered among the game's most exciting prospects, 21-year-old Tupou scored a hat-trick of tries in just his second NRL game last season in round 25 against Wests Tigers.
A member of the Newtown Jets 2012 NSW Cup winning side, Tupou was named the NSW Cup winger of the year last season.
Tupou, who is expected to be named on the wing in coach Trent Robinson's side for the Roosters season-opener against South Sydney on March 7, said he was happy to have settled his future.
"I'm really enjoying being a part of the Roosters. I'm learning so much and I wanted to stay a Rooster and build a career here," Tupou said in a statement.
"I still have lots of room to improve and I hope to continue to learn and hopefully secure my opportunity to play some good football for the club."
Roosters chief operating officer of football Brian Canavan said Tupou was part of the club's long-term plans.
"Daniel is an exciting young talent and has been a wonderful asset to the club both on and off the field," Canavan said.
"Tall, strong and with great footwork, Daniel has the ability to grab some AFL-type marks and become a real crowd favourite. He has applied himself diligently across all aspects of professional football and we look forward to him continuing to be a key contributor in the years to come."

The kid has potential but looks to lack aggression and has the Talanoa moments in his game, round 1 will test him, his defence will be his undoing, he is Targeted.

I like the kid. If I remember correctly he is top under the high ball which is exactly what we need.

Yeah definitly happy with the 2 year extension. We have plenty to work with in this kid. Certainly is a unit and knows how to finish. Try last week in the trial is exactly what we need in a winger.

He certainly has potential. At the least he is infinitely better under the high ball in both attack and defence than Justin Carney.

Couldn't agree more. We were the worst at defending kicks last year, yeh? So hopefully that's a part of our game that gets fixed although Tigers scored off kicks in the trial.
