Corporate psychobable. I recognise it well. Was once told I had a gift for it. Say a lot that says nothing.

Nearly every caller on 2SM talk in sport has registered their disgust of the Tapau (Coward) tackle.

The major opinion is that he should of been sent off.

They all think one week is a joke.

We should all bombard that NRL f**kers email and see if we get the same generated template back.

At least we make the fugger do overtime in replying back.

Absolute disgraceful decision in which I think changed the game.

It was a swinging arm that connected to the head of a player not in possession of the ball. The only mitigation is that Bird bends to pick up the ball. From the replay (admittedly on slow motion) there was plenty of intent. It's almost a throwback to the Arko days when Manly sweetheart deals were all the rage.

One week is ridiculous.

They should have an 18th man who is activated if a player fails a concussion test due to a reportable incident.

Don't even need wordy emails.

A simple email saying "you have lost me over the lack of governance surrounding the Tapau tackle on Bird"

A few million emails like that which might rattle the $$bone would have them second guessing.

So would a few million emails to Foxtel telling them subscriptions will be cancelled due to the NRLs incompetence. This would hurt more as they don't really care who goes to games. It's all about TV $$ now

At least now on field decision for example last night Bird has gone off, yes we get free interchange - correct.

It should be

Tapau at same time is replaced causes Manly to lose a interchange, Tapau cannot return to field whilst Bird is off.

So that is immediate decision.

Whilst this has happened on field referee has it on report but sends it to the bunker who have 5 minutes to review decision, at next break in play they advise if a send off decision, if it is referee stops game gets captain to have Tapau return to field it uses another interchange, and then he is sent off.

Doing this at least the minimum is player off field as long as the player incident happened to, with a loss of 1 interchange.

If deemed bad enough its a send off and loss of 2 interchanges.

That has to be better then what we have now

Sounds complicated.

Just send the f**ker off for cheap shots like that!

In soccer football, send offs / red cards (& draws) are an acceptable part of the game but in Rugby League, it's a crime.

They'd rather not disadvantage the offending team (& risk a media backlash with a send off) but disadvantage the innocent team instead.

1 week, yet the game seems to think its taking the concussion issue seriously.
You would think cheap dog shots like this would have a heavy penalty.
Its clear as daylight Tapaus mission was to take Bird out of the game.
And it won Manly the game.

If that was done in public Tpau would have been charged for a coward punch.

Is there any chance this email could be forwarded to Todd Greenberg?

I just want to bring up the Marty Tapau/Jack Bird incident from last nights game. I'm no astronaut but we all know what Tapau's intention was when he did what he did to young Jack.

The current advantage is a free interchange. In my opinion that is not sufficient enough for the team that has lost a player.

When players are forced from the field due to a DELIBERATE foul act, there have to be some sort of remmafucations for the offending player and his team. The example of last nights incident only gave manly an advantage let's be honest. Sure we had Beale replace Bird but we lost one of our stars for the remaining game. Maybe if a send off is a bit rich The NRL should start looking at a 20 minute sin bin for these sort of deliberate acts.

Is this something that you are looking at going forward?

In my opinion the only team that gets the advantage is the team that plays manly in round 4 i.e the roosters

In regards to the grading of the charge well that is a seperate topic altogether. I am truly astounded at the punishment handed down to Martin considering George Burgess sat out for 2 weeks for squirting WATER yes water at an opposing player. Is this consistent in your honest opinion? Intended or not he knocked out Jack Bird(mind you it isn't the first time he has done this)with a clenched fist and he gets less of a suspension then a guy that squirts water at an opposing player. Go figure!

I look forward to your reply.

It's not the Bulldogs so I wouldn't expect anything from him.
