Training Session Run-down

Not really a lot to report overall.

Mark Riddell currently has a back injury so was sitting out much of the session. Hindy has yet to return to the training field because of the toe operation. He is expected back next Monday. Timana was also absent from the session as was Michale Lett who was also carrying an injury.

They trained in two groups. Forwards and backs. Very similar skills drills were run for both groups by Hayden. Then more game oriented stuff was handled by Hagan, Fairleigh and Cameron.

The backs went across for a session in the gym while the fowards trained and then they swapped.

Number of players looking decidedly fitter than this time last year. Justin Tsoulos, Josh Cordoba, Weller Hauraki all have bulked up considerably acroos the arms and shoulders while having slimmed down. Nathan Cayless looks the fittest I have seen him for a few years.

Of the backs Kris Inu and Tim all look to have added some bulk to their frames.

Blake Green, Tim Smith and Brett Finch were all very sharp during the balls skills training. Timmy and Blake in particular.

Nothing really out of the ordinary to report as such. Nikki was able to take some photos which she will hopefully post later on.

Guys, how did Ben Smith's footspeed look? Any sharper than last year when he was coming back from that injury?

How did Aaron Cannings and Richard Fa'oso look performing drills? Up to speed / injury free / strength wise?

Any of the young guys look particuarly keen ie Weller / Junior / Feleti?

Benny was training very well. Asked him about the ankle and he was happy to be training injury free. Said the ankle was feeling great. Looked to be moving much better than he has for a while.

All the forwards looked sharp. Fa'aoso for mine still looks to have a little way to go to get up to the speed of the others. A bit hard really to take much from the training session but for mine Weller looks to be very keen, as does Junior. Feleti is looking very fit and was running well. Very different to previous years but they looked a very relaxed bunch....

Thanks Colonel, that's great news.

A day off today would have been handy. Go to training, have lunch, then off to the pub to watch us thrash the poms ...

Wow! He's trimmed down in the upper body, but I see he still has huge thighs. Hopefully this means he will have strong leg drive.
