Transferring Car rego in NSW for a private sale costs

Hey Guys.

Brought a car for $3500, has 11 months rego, how much am I going to have to transfer ownership to me at the RTA?

When I took over ownership of my pops car last year it was only $29 to transfer into my name.

I think it depends on the weight of the car and cost and maybe even age but something around a couple of hundred.

I believe the stamp duty is based on the sale price of the car and they generally ask for a receipt for proof.

The seller and buyer have forms to fill out where they put the amount that the car was sold for.
The RTA will take this figure unless it is well below market rates - then they will use the market rate figure

Best to put the lowest market rate for the car

Yeah that was about right cause that's what I had to pay when I aquired my mum's old car. She put $3500 on it even though she gave it to me.
