Trent Barrett doesn't want the captaincy

Trent Barrett said on BigPond Sports Weekend yesterday that he doesn’t want to be the Sharks captain and that Paul Gallen should resume the position once he returns from injury.

Barrett said, “Gal wears his heart on his sleeve and things happen on the field and anyone who plays the game knows that and Gal is going through a bit of a tough time at the moment… it doesn’t worry me too much I’m not going to change my game whether I’m the captain or not, I’d much prefer Gal to stay in the job. I think it’s his decision if he thinks it’s time for him to concentrate on some other areas and let himself just get into his footy well I’m happy to help him but I don’t think it’ll be necessary I think it’s something that he’ll learn from and move on.”

Perhaps Trent wants to distance himself from the ongoing controversy that seems to embroil the club??????

Why does everyone involved with the Sharks continue to apologise for Paul Gallen? He consistently acts like a merkin of the highest order. And little wonder, because they never seem to call him on it.

i actually opened the thread just to write that, as it was posted in the nrl forum. i then came back to check on the thread, as i correctly assumed some lame sharks fans would be having a go.

Don't think so MA. There was a red fraggle...hang on will google...wembley, boober, sprocket are there and Gobo (that's who you're probably thinking of). Called a teacher at kirrawee high Mrs Fraggle once - didn't go over well.

Hang on I've remembered. The "gronk" was a character featured in an aggotsy bag song that one of the teachers at my old primary school used to belt out.

Come on Eion you would remember him!

Feck, I even remember his name Mr Brownjohn, gee we should have given that name plenty more than we did!
