LOL, the Aussie coach is blaming the ref

Maybe he should blame his game plan which seems to involve no expansive running of the ball

So the Aussies are blaming the ref...get over it !!!.

Yes I do not think that Mortlock should have been pinged for a high tackle but the AB's dominated in the forwards and were always going to in the wet conditions.

I don't get why all the Aus fans are bagging Connelly for no running game...the ball was never going to be chucked around based on the weather.

Latham should not have played...he looked really rusty and apart from a a couple of good kicks looked a liability for the Aussies.

We fell apart in the 2nd half while the ABs keep scoring. Usually we get the ball out of the scrum very quickly but last night it just seemed to get stuck in there.

the Aussie media has been giving the ref a serve, he did make some significant blunders but I didn't see it effecting te result

kiwis too god as expected but I am surprised that there really isn't that much difference between the two teams

one try only says it all, and both teams are off their game atm in my opinion, so I think anything can happen in the WC

IMO there was only one try because of the weather and if the ground had been firm then I think the AB's would have won comfortably...

Agreed with KAS, the weather greatly affected the game, and the game plans changed immensely. The All Blacks would usually play very lateral and get the back 5 or so involved, but it was not on last night and the likes of Woodc*ck, Hayman and the loose forward trio mangled the Wallabies pack into submission.

I still don't think the All Blacks are far off, a couple of those passes stick and we'll see some big scores again.

Can't believe the reaction from the aussie players/coach/media etc. They're practically claiming daylight robbery and are carrying on like it was a moral victory with the dastardly ref conspiring to prevent them from winning.

It was a bad game all around, that included the Wallabies. Connolly needs to worry about his own team, like how they've only managed two tries in 160 minutes, both when the All Blacks were down to 14.

i find out funny how the aussie fans get upset if theres a lack of tries..... i loved last nights game. a good battle in the trenches with the better tactical side winning. the scrums were bloody awesome!! funny how Knuckles wasnt saying anything about Dunning and his collapising every F'n scrum when hayman was putting the heat on.

Correct me if I am wrong...but haven't the All Blacks only scored 3 tries in 160 minutes as well?

Not much between the 2 teams, I think. The Aussies were told by all and sundry that they'd be wiped all over the park by NZ and SA during this 3-Nations. At least I know that we'll be more than competitive during the RWC.

And as for reffing blunders, they happen in every game. That 'high shot' from Mortlock was a bad error as was the Leonard intercept....replays show him about a metre offside. That led to the only try.

In saying that. it was inevitable that the AB's would cross though.

No they dont... He was onside when Hoiles detached to pick up the ball... from there there is no offside line until the next ruck... he just read what was gong to happen perfectly...

The Mortlock head-high call was just one of those things, on replay it looked fine, but you could easily see how from where the referee's standpoint it would have looked like a high shot. The ref has to call it as he sees it, and inevitably he'll get the odd one wrong.

Agree...Mortlock is a good player but needs to pull his head in and give the AB's credit...he seems to just blow on about the Wallabies being great and ready for the World Cup etc.

BS..that decision was dead set a joke considering Smith got dead set belted around the middle of his head and NO PENALTY!

The ref was biased, and it was because of that reason and only that reason that the dirty, despicable ABs won.
