Tri Series Squad

Hey Guys,

Who would you be selecting in the squad. I'm not sure if its a 15 man squad or not, but i'll name my ideal first 11...

At this stage i'd prefer the likes of Pattinson, Siddle, Hilfenhaus, Cummins to be rested or not used so much in the shorter form of the game. Imagine this, we can have 2 completely seperate bowling attacks for each form of the game. And Johnson nowhere to be seen either.

Why you bringing back Dussey for? We finally got rid of him and he won't be at the next WC so no point bringing him back.

I thought the squad was already named? With the rotation of ODI's it depends where you play so there's no real ideal 11 except if we make the final I guess

I can see Harris being rested a fair bit in the shorter forms of the game. If they pick Haddin over Wade then so be it, but this bloke is not a one day opener. Selectors of the past seem to be stuck in the mindset that because you wear the keeper gloves you open the innings. Fine for Gilly but Paine and Scissorhands aren't good enough to be regarded as Gilchrist's discarded toenails.

I'll leave Watson out and I'd like to see Hussey and Ponting rested for a game or 2 at least. Clarke will most likely get a rest as well if Watson comes back in.

I also wouldn't mind sending Marsh back to the shield to get some runs if he intends on going on the tour to the West Indies.

Can't help but notice the lack of siddle in everyones squads. I reckon he deserves a spot after the test series he has had.

Why bother playing him in the ODI series??

He's not suited to the short format IMO. He's not a big mover of the ball and can be quite expensive.

He's coming along great in the tests where he can build pressure. Keep him for the tests only IMO

Siddle has never done well in ODIs, I think we'll see Starc brought in though as the while ball tends to swing more than the red ball

these are hard to pick with them resting players and I would not pick any of the fast bowlers from the test series. I prefer they rest them for ODI rather then rotate them during tests. I would play

I would send Haddin and Marsh back to shield cricket to concentrate on the longer format and have Watson try and become match fit instead of playing a nothing series. Start to give a few younger guys a go, Henriques, Cooper and OKeefe have been in giood form this year as has starc. I have dropped Doherty for OKeefe for all round ability IMO.

I'd let Huss go back to Shield cricket to prepare for the Windies..

I'd be going with the kids mainly..Until the finals series..

Then Huss back in..
