It looks like Darius' days at fullback are officially numbered with Jack Bird named at 1.

I'd be curious to get your thoughts @Mr Angry on Bird's performances at fullback for Cronulla? I was of the opinion that he made a strong debut there in 2017 before trailing off. Did he have potential in that position or do you see it as a failed experiment that's better left in the past?

I'm curious to see how the pack performs and if Pangai Jr & Carrigan can push for a spot in the starting team. I'm also curious to see if Kennedy and Hopoate put their hands up as options.

Finally, I like seeing all these extended squad members get a run. Bessie Aufaga-To'omaga, Jon Reuben, Darren Nicholls, Lachlan Timm, Jack Martin, Guy Hamilton and Brendan Piakura won't get a run unless something unforseen takes place but they could get their opportunity in the future. It's just a matter of whether it'll be at the Broncos or another club.

I expect to see Martin and Piakura in QCup this year. Martin already has some experience at that level, I hope he can become a regular. I believe he's at the Magpies this year who are in desperate need for some forwards.

Aufaga-To'omaga was outstanding for the Capras last year. As they are a so called feeder club for the Broncos, will he return if not required. Or surprise, he will probably play for Redcliffe, or one of the city clubs. No wonder the country clubs find it hard to compete.

Nailed it, Aufaga-Toomaga is with the Dolphins.

I don't understand the logic either unless that's what Aufaga-Toomaga's camp wanted. You would think if he hasn't officially signed with the club, they'd sign him to an extended squad as per the affiliates agreement and then send him back to the Capras who could use a player who spent the entire off-season as a full-time Rugby League player.

Bird was fine at fullback, but was always a fill in. Barba was our 1.

I did see Jack play a few games for Saints in NYC @1 and he was their best player.

Not sure he has the pace or aerobic requirements, but that kid is a footy player. Ungangly mofo too, hard to tackle and tackles hard.

Better than Darius but.

I believe he was filling in for Holmes in 2017 since Barba had been released during the off-season.
