Been getting score updates on my Facebook page doesn't say what minute it is but Knights are carving them up. Last score was 54-6. Must be their Datsun Cup team we're playing or a Queensland Country team masquerading as the Melbourne Storm.

Went to the game and watched the CCC game v Entrance Tigers.
Centurions were up 7 tries to nil at halftime, then ran on the NYC reserve players and won the second half about 3 tries to 1.

Abes played 5/8 and organised well - him and Theeran Pearson combined well in the halves.
Dane Cordner looked fit and played strong.
Kirran Shearer looked huge but he struggled to keep up and needs to play a lot of minutes for match fitness - he certainly bent the line back though.
Nick Dwan looked fantastic at fullback, but Justin Smith looked just as good in the second half. Don't know who will were the 1 in NYC.
Simon Williams killed it - scored 2 or 3 and set up a couple as well - but he looks smaller and quicker than last year - not spending the time in the gym.
Dargan and McMillian looked good in the second row.
Lucas Miller played at lock in the first half and prop in the second - he looked like he hasn't been training for long and a long way short of match fit, but was still one of the best on the field.
The best player for the centurions was probably hooker Chris Adams - did lots of quality work for 40 minutes and looked like he had plenty of running still in him when the A team went off.

Stayed for the first quarter of the top grade.
knights up 4 tries to nil at quarter time.
Uate scored a beauty, but also dropped the ball cold twice.
Hard to say much because the Knights looked like firstgraders playing 3rd graders - but they did look fit and slick.
Ervan scored a simple try - not a hand laid on him - but apart from that he is a simple yards man - ball under the wing and 10 yards straight every time.
Scotty and jarrad looked slick - but i would have against that opposition.

Congratultions flogging a Storm NSW cup/under 20 side with all of about 1 bloke if that with 1st grade experience...... Knights for the premiership!:lol::lol:

Mate - no one is happy that the Knights wasted a night they could have been doing training drills, but instead had to play the guys who can't make your NYC side.
Waste of time and effort.
I doubt we'll play a trial against you next year - you can waste someone else's time.

Haha we need practise against useless opposition....that way we might be able to perform against the sh*t teams next year.

KNIGHTS SHARP IN SECOND TRIAL

The Newcastle Knights defeated the Melbourne Storm 66 - 10 at St John Oval, Charlestown tonight to win the Kurt Fearnley Cup.

The Storm team, made up of fringe first graders put up a strong fight but were unable to match the strength of the home side.

Central Charlestown junior, Dan Tolar registered the game's first points in the opening minute on his former home ground to launch a long awaited comeback from injury.

The Knights performed well across the park and now turn their attention to next week's full-strength trial against the Panthers in Port Macquarie.

The only injury concern was Con Mika who suffered a rib cartliage injury.

Junior Sau left the field in the second quarter with a mild knee strain and Cooper Vuna has a minor corked calf but neither are cause for concern for Knights medical staff.

In the curtain raiser, the Central Coast Centurions defeated The Entrance Tigers 32 - 4.

Meanwhile, mixed results for the Newcastle Knights junior representative teams in Sydney today with the Novocastrians victorious over the Roosters by 30 points to 24.
in Harold Matthews.

In SG Ball, the Knights led 24-20 five minutes from full time before a late converted try to the Roosters to snatch a 26-24 victory.

real clever. i wonder how the knights will go against a full strength melbourne side?

Pretty well in recent years.

in Melb 2008 - Storm never more than a try in front except for 10 mins of the game (and scores level for the first 60 odd minutes)

in Newc 2008 - Knights win by one (17-16)

in Melb 2009 - Storm won in the last few mins, after being outclassed by the Knights for the entire game

in Newc 2009 - blew the Storm off the park to be leading 26-0 with 15 mins to go (took the foot off the pedal after that, 26-14 final score)

yeah, pretty dumb statement, really. we all know the trial was a joke, and we usually go well against the storm.

still good to know the results/injuries/etc.

Yep in all seriousness, bit of a waste of a trial, but I think Rolla has half a point, we need practice against sides that are easy beats!
