Result from Kougari Oval

Wynnum Seagulls 28 (Simon Phillips, Damien Quinn, Scott Marks, Royce Simms, John Bruce tries; Quinn 4 goals) def Manly 18 (Mitch Creary 2, Kane Cleal tries; Mark Lennon 3 goals)

Manly raced in a try in the second minute of the match and it looked like it could be a long night for Wynnum but they settled down and restricted the visitors to only two other tries - one from a kick and a consolation try close to the end. The Gulls led 16 - 12 at halftime and were in command through the second half after a pretty even first 40 minutes.

It was quite a physical and at times fiery game with defence strong from both sides.

eh its doesn't bother me that much as all these younger blokes are usually trialling for contracts

Apparently in SG ball we played all trialists in the first 40 and were down 30 nil, then we brang on our no1 team and won 22-10 in the second

first of all, good hitout by all concerned.

secondly they were fresh and played a side that just played 35 minutes in the first half with only very few replacements. ;-)

hahahaha

also when talking PL team its worth considering
only 2 of the top 25 were in that side the other night.

I would expect Mullane, Stevenson, G Stewart adam cuthbertson and even sam harris and shane dunley to come back down in to that side
when the season starts.

Our PL side this year will be bloody strong. Big call, but I'm predicting a GF appearance.

(off the top of my head)

#1 - Lennon
#2 - Peachey/Taylor
#3 - Johnson
#4 - Sweeney
#5 - Creary
#6 - Cherry
#7 - Burns/Halden/Robson
#8 - Moorwood/
#9 - Ballin/Robson/Burns
#10 - Bryant
#11 - Cleal
#12 - Tutt
#13 - G Stewart

#14 - Cleal
#15 - Curtis
#16 - Hollingsworth
#17 - Cuthbertson
#18 - Styles
#19 - Luchetti
#20 - Keys

Then add potential apperances by - Harris,Dunley,Williamson (hope not),Stephenson,Hoppa,Heckenberg,Alberts.

Very strong.

Ballin had a sound game I hear?
Yes he went really well from reports and my mate reckons the standout was Lennon ...has really bulked up too!

Yes Garts, he's a boxer and pretty quick with those fists!
