Tribute to two top lads

Hello fellas and ladies

Just wanted to drop this here as a little tribute to my son and his best mate.

Brad, (my son) passed on 1/8/24 after a massive battle with a rare form of cancer (Mast Cell leukaemia). I’m still battling to come to terms with it after being with him through all of it.

Anyway, in an awful twist, his best mate passed just a couple of months before him from another form of cancer.

Brad’s mates from his group of friends on the Gold Coast had come up with Nick names (as they do) and some clever dick called him Feargal (Feargal Sharky) as he was a Shark nut, like his old man. His mate was called Puff as he was an avid Dragons man.

The boys are doing a tribute night tomorrow for the two boys and a lovely lady did these for Brads 6 year old son and Daves granddaughter.

RIP Brad and Dave

Moral I guess is, we can hate on about footy allegiances but at the end of the day, mates are mates till the end hey.

Hi Miller I just logged on to see if there was any news re Francis Molo when I read your post.
I am so sorry for your loss and can't imagine the pain of losing a son.
Yes in the scheme of things footy rivalry is way down the list of what's important in life.
All the best to you, cheers Nanadragon.

Hi Miller

My sincerest condolences to you and your family on the passing of your son Brad and to Dave's family as well.

It must have been so tough for you and I'm glad you had the strength to support Brad over the period of his illness.

All the best mate.

Heartfelt condolences to you Mills and your family, as well as Dave's.

When family is involved, things, such as football, are insignificant, and although the drums of battle can be heard, all that matters is the love you had for your boy, and we as Dragons fans respect you and wish you happiness continued good health.

Yeah, I’ll add my condolences Miller.
I can’t imagine the feeling even if we have seen it in my partners family. She has an unrelated half brother and a half sister, who live on Different continents, within 6 months their sons get the same form of cancer. We got the 50% success rate.

Thanks Snowdragon. OMG that is just awful and I can’t imagine the odds of it happening.

It is a horrible, horrible disease. This progressed from Brads bone marrow and into his spine. Lost all mobility in a short timeframe. Eventually after chemo abs radiation treatments they couldn’t do anymore and it progressed to take him.

It’s a shit thing.

Thoughts are with the family.

All the best Miller, I can't imagine how awful that must be to cope with.

Just read this and had shivers down my spine.

RIP two legends who clearly love their footy. They will both be watching the next derby together beers in hand, and from the same grandstand with legends past from both clubs.

All the very best to both families here during this terrible time.
