No words can ever be good enough for such a tragic loss of not only a son but a good buddy as well.

You are a quality person and no doubt will be the rock that your family and friends can stand on for support.

Whilst doing that remember to spare some time for yourself and your own personal grief.

Our thoughts are with you stay strong and sincere condolensces.

So sorry to hear of your tragic loss. Whilst we dont know u personally we can only extend our heart felt condolences. Cancer touches most of in some way, i am one of the lucky ones having survived 2 bouts but for it to happen to one so young leaves me speechless. All the best to you & your family & those close to you at this very sad time.

Hello fellas and ladies

Just wanted to drop this here as a little tribute to my son and his best mate.

Brad, (my son) passed on 1/8/24 after a massive battle with a rare form of cancer (Mast Cell leukaemia). I’m still battling to come to terms with it after being with him through all of it.

Anyway, in an awful twist, his best mate passed just a couple of months before him from another form of cancer.

Brad’s mates from his group of friends on the Gold Coast had come up with Nick names (as they do) and some clever dick called him Feargal (Feargal Sharky) as he was a Shark nut, like his old man. His mate was called Puff as he was an avid Dragons man.

The boys are doing a tribute night tomorrow for the two boys and a lovely lady did these for Brads 6 year old son and Daves granddaughter.

RIP Brad and Dave

Moral I guess is, we can hate on about footy allegiances but at the end of the day, mates are mates till the end hey.
Condolences Miller, I hope you have plenty of family and mates to lean on and talk to.

I hope you are remembering all the fun and meaningful times you shared with Brad.

Thank you for all your kind words.

The tribute night went well with Dave’s dragons beating Brads Sharks in the indoor cricket match up.

Brad’s 6 year old (my grandson of course) played for the Sharkies and got the biggest cheers when he slogged one (had no idea he batted left handed either lol). He had a ball with all the lads making a fuss over him.

Poor little guy been having nightmares that grandad is gonna die….

Well I am, but not yet I hope!

Tonight was a special one for him

I can't imagine your loss but after having a near death experience myself a couple of years back I now have a greater understanding of the fragility of life.

I'm glad the tribute night went well...

My deepest condolences to your family, Miller, with the loss of your son, Brad, and to his mate Dave's family as well. I can't imagine what you'd be going through, mate losing a child. But you're stronger than you know to be able to post about something like this. Even though our teams have their rivalries, it just goes to show that it's all nothing, because at the end of the day, we all love our rugby league and that's what brings us together.
