Widdop played a few good games at the start of 2017.Playing for a contract.

until I see Widdop take control of a 50/50 game and direct us to consistent victory I will not be convinced like some on here. We lose way too many games that we are still in with 20 to go, the exact opposite to Melbourne and the Cowboys (and QLD for that matter) who all have playmakers who take control and guide teams for a lot more wins than losses.

Having said that he is a very good player who is actually better suited to fullback imo.

Sailor can wait until he grows into a man, 2 - 3 years minimum whereas Lomax is ready now.

I see Widdop in the same way(apart from him being moved to FB). There's no question he can play and has the touch of class needed. I've said before its the area of closing out games where he comes up short.
To qualify that he hasn't exactly had a quality 7 next to him apart from Benji in the early rounds of 2015 before his hammys started to play up. So I think he is guilty of trying to hard in those sorts of situations(who can blame him with what he has had to work with).

I've got faith that Widdop & Hunt will form a very good combination for the next few years. As a result there won't be an opening unless that somehow turns to sh*t.

I won't be surprised to see Tristan Sailor named 5/8 in the QLD under 20's origin this year.

I hope so, will be a good development opportunity for him. However it doesnt mean he will be close to NRL ready next year or looking at a full time spot the following year. Huge jump from 20s to NRL, especially for undersized kids.

Sailor is a way off.
He is very good trainer and hopefully he will make it.
I think that only 5 to 10% of great under 20 star players ever make a long and successful career in the nrl.
So out off all the great bunch of kid we have mybe 3 or 4 will have a long nrl career.
I hope they all make it but it may not happen

Sailor will have to learn to tackle first. Watched him closely in the semis last year and his defence was appalling.
