Wow never knew that. Thanks for the info. Can i ask how you know that but? pretty impressiveWell here's some trivia for you. The formation of Johnston, being John and son or tun (town), is Norse in heritage to signify you are John's son or from John's town. However John is a Hebrew name, where it means God is kind or something like that. Now Joel is again Hebrew and means Jehovah is God. Therefore your name means Jehovah is God, God is kind and I am God's son. So me mocking your name was a bit hasty seeing how when translated into Hebrew it actually has a good flow to it. Especially seeing how my name translates in Latin and Old English to rushing waters, oak valley
The Norse names I thought was pretty common knowledge. They only had their given names then the sons to show pride in their heritage would always state who their father was by saying Magnusson or Eriksson.Wow never knew that. Thanks for the info. Can i ask how you know that but? pretty impressive
Well good work. Trivia is allways a usefull bit of info to have up the sleeveThe Norse names I thought was pretty common knowledge. They only had their given names then the sons to show pride in their heritage would always state who their father was by saying Magnusson or Eriksson.
In Hebrew Jo or Yo means Jehovah/Yahweh/Jesus and El means God. And I picked up the meaning of John somewhere because it is the most common name in the western world.
If only I could remember important stuff as well as I remember useless pieces of trivia
Sorry to disappoint you , but I think you are referring to Nathan Hindmarsh playing against Adelaide at Hindmarsh Stadium . The match was ,in fact played at Pioneer Oval Parkes. Here's some trivia. One of our current Parramatta squad made his first grade debut against a club whose home ground at the time shared his surname. The young uns' probably won't know this at least.
Heres one from a while ago:
Parramatta played Balmain in Perth in 1989.
Name the Eels player sent off in Parramattas win.
Hint. He had a brother who was playing at the same time.
