1. 2nd half he put a chip through and i am sure he was deliberately tripped .. no replay though so i can not be 100% on it ... probably needs another look

2. 2nd half again and Rovelli tried to unscrew Haynes head from his shoulders ... Basically just grabbed him by the head and twised him onto his back ... I guess the grapple and twist thing doesnt exist anymore.

There has been no grapple tackle since the Charity Shield...

There was about 20000000000 penalties from Clark in that game but have we since at least one in the normal season?

Rufus. Right on both counts.

There was a more obvious grapple though from Jeremy Smith on Tony Martin. I thought he was going to rip his head off. That as Martin was getting up to play the ball.

I think grapple tackle was only one of those pretty penalty fads they pulled out of the book to try and slow down Melbourne. When you have someone like Magoo Finch running the rule over the referees, there's bound to be massive inconsistencies in there.

the one from rovelli was a pretty obvious grapple he twisted him around on the ground... but bumstead didnt do a very good job tonight, who can blame him looking over his shoulder ever few seconds thinking jeremy was going to get him...

Bumstead and his touchies were woeful. Heaps of bad calls, but I don't think they turned the game.

Every time Jeremy Smith was at marker Bumstead called his name and told him to get square or get off quicker. I reckon he was hoping he'd snap! Tough luck Hamster you useless prick!!!

In terms of the referees and their continual effort to get low penalty counts, it's a bit ridiculous to hear "AWEN! GET YOUR FOOT TO THE BALL! I WON'T TELL YOU AGAIN.." and then five minutes later "STEVE! FOOT TO THE BALL NEXT TIME!" Last time I looked, they were penalty offences. It's almost like they're coaching the players, they might as well start calling "two wide, dummy runner and then inside ball..."

Some of the grappling going on from both sides was ludicrous, both Jeremy Smith and Grant Rovelli in one tackle each should have been penalised and given a severe caution. Grappling's a fad I know, but it has the ability to cause some serious injuries. Tony Martin with his neck injury seems to be particularly susceptible to it, which is a low dog act really.

Hampstead had a poor game.
Showed he's not up to the quality of Clark and with on this form, he'll be lucky to get a shot in the semis.
